Not the best experience I got called rude several times because I asked where the line started??? Idk if they were just having a bad day but no excuse. The girls in there were very rude.
I absolutely love the breakfast and brunch here! Everything is delicious. I’ve also had dinner here, and it was just as wonderful. The bread, the food, and everything else were excellent. Everything was perfect, and I highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, and dinner!
I saved this bakery awhile ago but only had the chance to try today. I heard great things about the almond croissant and it did not disappoint! It was absolutely gorgeous and perfect. I also tried the lox open face pastry and it was crispy and perfect for a savory breakfast. There's a lot of seating inside the bakery. They also had a refrigerated section with sandwiches and quiche that would make it a perfect place for lunch as well. The service was quick, too.
Food is excellent. Had been at a business appointment and needed to grab something quick for dinner. From grab and go case - got Chili and Lentil soup, and got a loaf of their Sourdough bread, and a loaf of Olive bread. We slice it thin when we get home and freeze it - take it out as needed. SO good. We have had the food there in the past too and it's great. Pasteries, cookies, croissants - all super yummy! Dining room is small but service is terrific. Weekdays will help you avoid the line!
i got coffee, a loaf of sourdough, and a pastry. all were mid.... but the prices were definitely above average! not only was it expensive, it was also very crowded and the other customers were pretty rude and pushy; not the cafe's fault of course, but it definitely affects the atmosphere. all in all, its expensive but okay. theres other cafes in the area that are much better
Stumbled upon this place while going next door for my eyebrows threading and omg!! The bacon and Gruyère cheese croissant was absolutely outstanding.
I just moved into my apartment in Mar Vista, and I walk to work at Venice Beach. This bakery is on my way and very close to my apartment, so I decided to try it. Let's just say it's now my morning routine before work. The cheese danishes and pretzels are amazing, and the service is very efficient. Everyone is really nice, and there is a blonde girl who works there and she is super friendly. This is definitely a must try for anyone visiting or living in or near Mar Vista.
A reliable spot for a wonderful pastry. I love their pretzel croissants so much. A nice twist on a classic. Open early and (frequently) open on days when other places are closed. Highly recommend checking them out if you're in the neighborhood.
As a Chicago resident, I am thrilled to have found Rockenwagner Bachelor Sourdough at my local Target! It is hands-down one of the best sourdough loaves on the market. My daughter actually makes amazing sourdough from scratch, which I love, but it is not an everyday luxury. Finding a store-bought loaf down the street that rivals her homemade taste makes me incredibly happy! 😋
