I highly recommend Rob Haynie and Roof & Restoration Experts. From the beginning, Rob helped me navigate a complicated insurance claim and took the time to explain what was happening, what the insurance company would cover, and what my options were. He was knowledgeable, patient, and responsive throughout the process. Once the work began, everything moved quickly. The crew replaced my roof and skylights, and worked hard to complete the job and clean up afterward. Rob also followed through on the smaller details and addressed the few concerns I had after the work was finished. Hiring a roofing contractor can be stressful, especially after having a bad experience in the past, but I felt that Rob treated me fairly and genuinely wanted me to be satisfied with the finished job. My new roof looks great, and I’m very pleased with both the workmanship and the overall experience.

The roof on my home in Ninety Six, South Carolina was failing but had not yet begun to leak. My description of failing was due to a 75% loss of the surface granules, and some blown off shingles on the existing original 13-year-old roof. The roof is approximately 5200 square feet with 2 dormers, 4 gables and a single drop-down transition on the main roof line. My research showed that Owens Corning Duration shingles were the best asphalt shingle system suited for the environmental conditions typically present in my area of Upstate SC. I contracted with Rob Haynie the owner and CEO of Roof And Restoration Experts LLC to replace the failing roof. Rob was one of 7 contractors I spoke with about replacing the roof. Roof And Restoration Experts LLC did an excellent and professional job replacing my failing roof with an Owens Corning Duration architectural asphalt shingle roof. In the contractor selection process, I did my due diligence of viewing recent work Rob had done in my area, talking to homeowner references on that work, verifying Rob's South Carolina licensing, and also verifying his liability & workman’s compensation insurances. Pleased with the results, I signed up with Rob to do the job on a Friday evening. My new roof job was started the following Wednesday and was completed on Thursday morning. Rob’s crew showed up promptly at 7:30AM and worked until 9:00PM on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, they returned to complete some remaining small brow roofing on the 4 gable ends & 2 dormers, and to complete the final cleanup. The crew was very professional and knowledgeable on roof replacement and worked hard and efficiently. They first placed drop cloths to cover all of my windows, shrubs and lawn in the debris fall areas at the ends of the roof slopes. They then began with a complete strip off of the existing roof. The existing flashing was still in excellent shape and was retained since the house is only 13 years old. The crew then installed synthetic underlayment on the decking along with ice and water shield in the valleys and around the dormers. They also replaced the boots on all plumbing and vents penetrating the roof decking. Next, Owens Corning starter shingles were attached on all eves and rakes followed by the Duration architectural shingles installation, then ridge vents and finish shingles over the ridge vents. Last was the installation of the underlayment and shingles on the brow roofs of the gables and dormers on Thursday morning. Cleanup was an ongoing effort throughout the day Wednesday and again on Thursday. Cleaning was handled very well, and all scrap was picked up by the end of the day. All the debris was picked up and hauled off. Nails were cleaned up with magnet sweepers and everything looked great when the crew departed. Rob’s pricing was very competitive as compared to the 6 other contractors I investigated. While Rob was not the least expensive price, he was using Owens Corning Duration materials and the two lower cost contractor options were using less competitive products, including shingles produced by the manufacturer who produced the 13-year-old failed shingles previously on my roof. The other competing, higher cost quotations were all quoted with Owens Corning Duration. Rob was very easy to deal with, and he truly knows his stuff when it comes to roofing. Rob conducted himself in a very professional manner throughout the entire process. The price Rob quoted for the job was the same price at the end of the job. There were no surprises or extra added charges. I would also like to note there was no rotted decking requiring replacement on my roof. Had there been, the final cost could have higher than the quote. Rotted decking would only be visible after the strip off and hidden from view in the quoting process. Over-all, my interaction with Rob and Roof and Restoration Experts LLC was a very positive experience. I would highly recommend contracting with Rob Haynie and Roof And Restoration Experts LLC to replace the roof on your home.
