I moved to DC a few months ago and was recommended Salon L’eau. I booked an appointment with Michele and had the best experience! He was so respectful, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire appointment. He really listened to what I wanted, and I absolutely love how my hair turned out. The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish, and I’m so glad I found this salon. I would definitely recommend Michele to anyone looking for a great haircut and an overall amazing experience!

Hi, Maggie. Thanks for taking the time to share your positive experience. We truly appreciate it!
Ada is an artist! She gives an outstanding haircut but is also able to give great advice and direction on style, and even gives quick, amazing beard trims to blend with the cut. I highly recommend her. And, Salon Leau is a great salon.

Hi, Matthew. We are thrilled to learn that you had a positive experience with us!
KJ gave me a fresh new haircut. I had some nice comments like "hip" and that it .made me look younger. Great experience . Haircut was super and the shampoo girl was also amazing. Cheers to all . JA

Hi, John. Thank you so much for leaving us a stellar review!
I’ve been going to Krisjun for 18 years, and I honestly can’t imagine going to anyone else. He is incredibly talented, with an amazing eye for detail and precision, but what I appreciate most is how much he genuinely cares about his clients. He is patient, truly listens to what you want, and always makes sure you leave feeling completely happy with your hair. The salon itself is beautiful, with tons of natural light and such a welcoming atmosphere. Everyone on the staff is friendly and makes you feel right at home. I highly recommend Salon L’eau, and especially KJ. His talent, professionalism, and genuine care for his clients are unmatched!
I'm a Georgetown resident and for the last eighteen years, my stylist has been Kristjun ("KJ"). He is a miracle worker, and I have been incredibly pleased with every single haircut he’s given me. I have "problem hair" that has bedevilled many a stylist, but not KJ. He is an artist, perfectionist, and all-around good guy, and I leave my one hour mini-vacations with him looking and feeling ten years younger. I rarely write reviews, but can't say enough positive things about KJ and his current atelier - Salon L’eau.

Hi, Will. We appreciate the kind words and are glad we could provide you with a positive experience!
Salon L'eau is selling faulty, damaged, fake extensions, but selling them/charging as much pricier, higher-quality, genuine hand-tied extensions as what is provided.
I met with Tasha at Salon L'eau in December 2022 to discuss a blonde highlight/extensions installation. I was moving to the DC area this spring from Atlanta and thought I was meeting with a qualified stylist/salon. Tasha and I thoroughly discussed during a 30-minute consultation at Salon L'eau in December the type of process and extensions I needed. She PROMISED and REASSURED me she could match my hair color correctly, but that she would install QUALITY 24-inch extensions as well. She reassured me that she could confidently match my color and extensions. Not to mention, Salon L'eau is a "top-rated" Georgetown/DC salon. They have been "listed" in Elle magazine as a Top-75 Salon. So in my mind at the time, it made perfect sense to trust them.
However, when I finally met with Tasha and Salon L'eau on March 30, it became the worst hair salon experience of my life. Tasha was beyond wonderful leading into the appointment. The salon itself is so cute, and they offer you all the beverages and food you could want while getting your hair done - so blinded by this, I failed to pay attention to what Tasha was doing to my hair. But because I am not a hair professional, I trusted her method. Despite noticing the dye seemed different than what my previous stylist used, and her installing my extensions while my hair was wet (btw, you are to NEVER do this when hair is wet because this is when it is at its weakest. Hair is more likely to be prone to break off while wet, she should know this as a professional) But again, this is a TOP salon and she is supposed to be a five-star, highly trusted stylist, so I also trusted it. Once drying it, Tasha had curled my hair much kinkier than what I am used to, so when the appointment was over, I noted my hair looked shorter, but I had also pass it off as to how it was just how she curled it. But I did have a gut feeling my hair didn't look (nor feel right), but I coughed it up as this was a new salon for me so it's just different.
I couldn't sleep the night following my hair appointment because my hairline was STINGING from the pull of the extensions -- I've used extensions for over 3 years, and it was the worst pain I've had from extensions yet. The next morning, the curls were gone and all that was left were ratty strings of extensions. I also noticed my hair had different specks of white and yellow around the roots -- versus the icy blonde I prefer AND HAD when entering my appointment. I messaged my hairstylist in Atlanta to gather her thoughts on my hair, and she proved my worst fears. Not only were my extensions NOT 24-inches and of the proper quality I was promised (and paid for), but my natural hair is also bleached -- something that was NEVER discussed for Tasha to do, nor is it a process that was to be used because bleach DOES NOT MATCH MY TONE. Tasha's bleach has severely fried and damaged my hair. Also, the extensions look just as fried also.
I asked Tasha for help on my extensions 3/31, but she said she wanted me to wait until April 6 for her to "maybe" put more extensions in to make it look fuller... she also blamed the supplier for the extensions (something that made me uneasy). So I told her I didn't want to wait a week to fix my hair and that I would just cancel. I just didn't trust her anymore.

We are incredibly sorry you had a negative experience with us. Our goal is to always deliver on quality in a professional manner. As you know, we have tried to do right by you when we asked that you come in to examine your hair. In order to correct your experience, we must be able to see your hair in-person. Unfortunately, because you refused to do so, we were unable to rectify the situation. That is why we refunded you $650 for the extensions, and are willing to offer an additional $200 refund. Please reach out if you would like to discuss this, and additional ways we can rectify your experience. Since you explicitly asked us to no longer communicate with you, we wish to be respectful and not cross this boundary by reaching out again. Once again, we are deeply sorry for this experience and hope you will give us an opportunity to make it right. Thank you, Salon L’eau
what a great experience!!
i initially booked with Ha but unfortunately she was feeling under the weather. the salon was super kind and accommodating and was able to get me in with another stylist, Lee. Lee took the time to listen to what i wanted but also gave his professional opinion and advice which i really appreciated. it’s the shortest i’ve ever gone but i wasn’t nervous at all in his chair. i really love how it came out!
oh! and the massage with hair wash was SO nice.
