I chose SD CPA based on the strong reviews, but my experience was disappointing. My return was prepared by someone else in the firm, which was fine, but Alex did not review it before our meeting. I caught multiple errors, including an incorrect full $3,000 capital loss carryover deduction and depreciation that ignored the cost basis I provided. My return is relatively straightforward (two W-2s, capital gains/losses, dividend income and Schedule E), so I expected better attention to detail - especially for a $650 fee. I had to review everything myself, which was frustrating. While the service was completed, I would have appreciated more oversight and accuracy.

I used Mr. Aazami for my last year's tax preparation for my taxes and had a great experience. They were very diligent and found errors in my previous year's return and filed an amended return to get a higher refund. They also spent face to face time to understand my situation and were available over the phone and email for any questions (my previous tax accountant was not as responsive). I thought they were very reasonably priced for a San Diego, CPA. It's hard to find an affordable accounting firm in SD. I will definitely continue using them for tax advice for me personally and have recommended them to my friends.
