Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. The most stressful part of our project was dealing with Tony. Instead of addressing concerns directly, every conversation became a lengthy explanation of why additional charges were justified or why issues weren't the installer's fault. Communication was absolutely exhausting. Despite spending considerable time discussing installation details, those instructions were never passed on to the tile subcontractor. He even confirmed that Tony had never communicated them, which resulted in one shower being installed differently than we had agreed. The "mitered" edges have 1/8 joint gaps...kind of defeats the purpose of mitering. We also asked for 1/16 grout joints. We got a variety of sizes. He blames it on my tile selection but we've installed the same tile in other projects and never had that issue. The real issue was that our installation instructions were never communicated to the sub. I was also charged extra for flooring. According to Tony, he didn't know we had wood subfloors. He thought we were on a slab. This should have been part of his due diligence before bidding. A licensed general contractor should have identified the subfloor during the bidding process, not after the work had begun. It was a bogus change order. My advice is to get multiple bids, document everything in writing, review installation details directly with the installers yourself, and carefully question every change order. After this experience, we hired other local contractors to finish our remaining projects. They were significantly more reasonably priced, communicated clearly, and completed the work professionally without all the unnecessary drama.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are disappointed that your final impression of the project differs from the satisfaction you expressed during the work and from the additional projects you asked us to quote throughout the process. We would like to provide some important context. Each installer received a written assignment detailing the selected tile, orientation, grout-joint size, edge treatment, niche locations, and other installation details. When certain layout preferences changed after installation, we removed and reinstalled portions of two showers at no additional charge, and we understood at that time that the revised work was satisfactory. We did not perceive any feelings of dissatisfaction until after we had to more aggressively pursue payments that were severely delinquent. The tile was installed using spacers no larger than 1/16 inch. However, the beveled edges and dimensional variation in the selected tile can create the visual appearance of wider or inconsistent grout joints. Some individual 4-inch tiles varied in size by more than 1/16 inch, which also affected alignment and the finished appearance. The home’s subfloor construction could not be confirmed before demolition because there was no visible crawlspace and the house was surrounded by poured concrete. Once the wood subfloor was exposed, cement board was required for the flooring installation. This additional work was approved before proceeding, and we charged only a discounted portion of the material cost while covering the labor. We also completed more than $2,000 in additional repairs and accommodations without billing for them. Although we respectfully disagree with several statements in this review, we take the concerns seriously. We are reviewing our communication, documentation, and pricing procedures to ensure that expectations remain clear and that every client feels heard throughout the project.
