We always have the best experience when we come here, The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, I always feel confident with the decisions as they explain everything thoroughly!
We drive all the way from Weston to come here!
I was able to come in this past Saturday as my cat was having diarrhea and vomiting issues, the adult version of the runs. Dr. Tabares and her office staff, especially Krystle that day was really wonderful to me and my cat as a new patient. She even gave me some helpful information just to help my cat with feeding better. My cat immediately felt better after the treatment and as soon as thr next day is pretty much back to normal with such a difference. I would recommend them highly.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review and your continued loyalty to our hospital! It means the world to our team to hear that you always enjoy bringing Simba in to see us.
Dr. Rob, Dr. Tabares, and the entire team truly value taking the time to listen closely and make sure you feel completely supported when it comes to Simba's health and well-being. We always want every visit to be a positive experience for both of you.
Thank you for trusting Scarbrough Animal Hospital with Simba's care over the years. We look forward to seeing you both at your next visit!
I took my cat there because she had an eye infection and they continuously urge me to put my cat down multiple times on multiple visits. They even went as far as to contact my mom to convince her and try to upsell my mom on different cremation services and different container containers that we can buy for my cats ashes. Even though one I wasn’t interested in euthanizing my cat, even if my cat were to pass away, I wouldn’t have wanted her to be cremated.. so like they really don’t have ears. Also, one of the Vet technicians kept saying “ it’s just an animal she’s not a human” the vet technician also tried to persuade me that she knows my cats desire to pass away more than to live rather than me understanding my cat. She thought she knew more about what my cat wants than me. Also, I was going to put my cat into surgery at another hospital that had better veterinary doctors and a more prestigious record. so I wanted to get my cat just hydrated for the day because she was dehydrated and they told me I had to leave her the full day to get dehydrated and one of the vet technicians or maybe it was a doctor she kept smirking and saying that I was going to have to sign my cat away to their possession in order for her to get hydrated, which was very odd and made me feel that they were planning to harm my cat or take her away from me without my consent. Obviously, I’m not stupid so I didn’t give them the job. Overall, I think they’re very odd and unexperienced. I wouldn’t trust them with any large scale procedures.

Dear Kayla,
First and foremost, we are so deeply sorry to hear about the difficult health journey your sweet cat has been going through. Navigating a severe illness with a beloved pet is heartbreaking, and we truly hope she is resting comfortably and doing well today.
We were very concerned to read your feedback, as the experience you described is completely contrary to everything we stand for as a hospital. However, after a thorough review of our patient database and medical logs, we have been unable to locate any records under your name or a case matching these circumstances. It is possible that this review may have been intended for another facility, and we respectfully encourage you to contact us so we can look further into your visit.
We do apologize if any aspect of your visit left you feeling uneasy, we want to gently reassure you that the actions described are strictly against our core policies and philosophy of care:
• Compassionate Care: Our entire team is in this field out of a deep love for animals. We treat every patient as if they were our own family member and would never dismiss a pet’s life or value.
• Cremation & End-of-Life Options: We utilize an independent third-party provider for all end-of-life and cremation services; we do not "upsell" or pressure families into end-of-life decisions or specific aftermarket items. Our role is strictly to offer compassionate guidance and support your choices.
• Patient Ownership & Consent: We do not have any policy or protocol that requires a client to "sign over" ownership or possession of their pet to receive supportive care or hospitalization.
We take all feedback extremely seriously. I would genuinely welcome the opportunity to connect with you directly so I can conduct a comprehensive, full investigation into this case. Please contact me with more details regarding your visit, if I am able to verify any of these events, I will immediately hold any involved team members strictly accountable, as this behavior does not represent our core values or how we conduct business operations in our hospital. Please reach out to me personally at (954) 749-9400 or via email at [email protected] so I can look into this for you right away. My name is Jason and I am the hospital manager at this location.
Everything went well as usual. Everyone is very polite, and the place is always clean and organized.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We truly appreciate your loyalty and trust in us since 2022. It is always a pleasure seeing June, and our team is glad to hear that you consistently enjoy our facility and staff.
Thank you for being such a valued part of the Scarbrough Animal Hospital family. We look forward to seeing you and June at your next visit!
BEWARE, sellout VC vet. I have been taking my dog here for going on 4 years. The last few visits, I have become increasingly weary of this Vet. I was there in March, again in June, and again last week. We used to have all her vaccines at the same time in the May/June visit, but now they seem to be spacing them out every couple of months. Every time they charge for an exam. My dog doesn’t need an $60 exam (where the vet comes in for 3 total minutes, listens to her heart and leaves) every 3 months. In addition, she used to be so excited to go to the vet and now I have to pick her up and carry her inside. Not sure what happens when they take her in back but I trust my dog’s instinct that she doesn’t want to go there. This last time, the tech insisted I had to have heartworm and fecal, even though I said I just had them both in June. I said no 3 times in the room! She said it was required every 6 months. Even though I said i didn’t want it and furthermore, it hasn’t been six months since the last test, she persisted. I stood my ground saying no. She brings my dog back, I go to the front to pay and both are still on the bill. I said I didn’t want them. The front desk lady went back to check with the tech and she had already administered the heartworm test, even though I repeatedly said no.
I get on the internet, come to find out this animal hospital was bought out by a Venture Capitalist group. So now our animal care is in the hands of these monsters that are going to charge us for treatments that aren’t needed, all to make the most profit off our family. After 4 years, I will be taking my dog somewhere where she’s not afraid to go in the back and where they are not trying to squeeze every dime out of me.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. As a valued client of four years, your trust means a great deal to us, and reading your review was truly concerning because it does not reflect the standard of care or experience we want for you or Gigi. I have tried reaching out via phone and email to discuss your experience directly and have unfortunately not been able to connect with you.
-Respecting Your Decisions & Staff Accountability
First and foremost, when a client declines a service, that decision must be respected. Continuing to push a test after you explicitly said no is completely unacceptable. I am addressing this directly with the technician involved for immediate coaching and accountability.
Regarding the screening timeline, our records show Gigi’s previous heartworm test and fecal were performed on March 10th (making her September visit the 6-month mark). I completely understand where the confusion may have been caused and it seems there was an impression that a heartworm test was performed during her June 11th visit, but that was not the case. Our last documented heartworm test to renew her preventive prescription was on March 10th. For Gigi to safely continue receiving her preventive prescriptions, a current blood test is required.
While Florida law mandates an annual test as a baseline, our 6-month recommendation is driven by South Florida’s year round mosquito transmission and the parasite's biological timeline. It takes roughly six months for ingested larvae to mature into adult worms. Testing at this interval allows us to catch silent infections before irreversible damage occurs to the heart and lungs. However, regardless of medical rationale, "no means no," and our team should have respected your choice.
-Vaccine Schedules & Exam Fees
Spacing out routine vaccines is not our standard operating procedure and we always prefer consolidating visits to minimize stress and financial burden. Looking at Gigi’s record, her vaccine due dates have drifted apart over time (e.g., Bordetella in March, Rabies/Lepto in June, and DHPP in September). While veterinarians occasionally space out immunizations, especially separating Rabies from other vaccines as a safety precaution to prevent adverse reactions in sensitive pets, no re-exam fee should ever be charged for a secondary booster visit. I would be glad to review your past invoices with you and immediately refund any improper re-exam fees. I can also work with you directly to realign Gigi’s schedule into a single annual visit.
-Gigi’s Experience & Low-Stress Handling
Learning that Gigi experienced anxiety coming into the clinic is concerning to our team. We are Fear-Free Certified and dedicated to gentle, low-stress handling. As pets mature, it is very common for them to develop situational anxiety or "white-coat syndrome" driven by anticipating minor discomforts like needle pokes or temperature checks, even with gentle care. To give you complete peace of mind, I am personally auditing our clinic footage from Gigi's recent visit to verify our team handled her with the utmost gentleness.
Our medical priority has always been and remains Gigi's health, safety, and well-being. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly, review your account, and make things right. Please contact me at the hospital at 954-749-9400.
We had to put our dog to sleep and the treatment from each and every one of them was exceptional. Special thanks to Ivon, who stayed with us during such a difficult time and through whom I arranged the appointment; we really appreciated her.
I brought a three-week-old kitten found at Home Depot to the clinic, where the staff provided attentive, caring service to ensure his health. I would highly recommend this vet.
