If you are considering hiring attorney Cathy Baumann. I suggest you go somewhere else. Besides with the enemy will speak to the enemy about you even though it's confidential and she'll make you look as bad as you can in court. I recently had a case to try and get my daughter back she told me that she filed an appeal for my tpr and waited 3 weeks past the deadline to let me know that she didn't do it. I find her actions during my trial to be deplorable. She told me that I'm a bad mother and that I shouldn't get my child back and constantly questions how I'm going to take care of her. Tells me that I need a vehicle almost all parents do even though I have insurance that will give me rides to any appointments and I was able to do that for her before she was taken from me. My mother tried to contact them to get custody of my daughter and they won't even speak to her for some reason attorney bomb and seems to think that the confidentiality clause belongs to her. That even if you get permission she doesn't have to speak to them because as you said my mother's not the client I am. Like I said if you're giving her by the court I would immediately ask for somebody else which I actually did do and my lawyer lied to me told me that she didn't object to it. Go somewhere else

Attorney Catherine Baumann handled my teenage daughter's case recently. While the case was dismissed, it was dismissed 'without prejudice'. This case should have (and could have if investigated appropriately) been dismissed 'with prejudice.' This outcome reflects a significant failure of due diligence. As the mother and a party to the case, I was never contacted by Attorney Baumann—not by phone, email, or in-person introduction—despite the fact that I held critical information and evidence, regarding the circumstances surrounding my daughter. Because the attorney relied exclusively on information provided only by my daughter’s father and my daughter (who is heavily suppressed and censored in her fathers home) - and failed to consult with me, she lacked the full context of the situation, specifically the history of a serious physical assault involving an adult family member of my daughter's father, that is being suppressed. This event happened the day before - the dates alleged in the Petitioner's statement. This lack of a thorough investigation directly impacted the quality of my daughter's legal representation and the legal outcome for my daughter. Beyond the failure to investigate, the conduct of Attorney Baumann during the hearing, was astonishing. I whispered a brief comment to my daughter's father, who was seated beside me, and Attorney Baumann immediately interrupted the proceedings to point her finger at me and announce to the judge, "Your Honor, there is 'someone' talking back here." I found this to be a performative and dismissive way to treat a parent and party to the case, especially given that I was not disruptive. A law firm is responsible for ensuring their attorneys maintain professional decorum and conduct thorough, unbiased advocacy; in this instance, I feel that standard was not met. I am sharing this experience as a caution to others who are appointed to, or contemplating hiring this firm, as well as a direct informative to this firm itself. Do better please.

Chris steufert rushes you off the phone and has a know it all attitude. I didn't feel he was working WITH me, he leans toward his personal beliefs. I will never contact him again as I dislike his tense demenior.

Upon first meeting Cathy during our consultation, I felt comfortable talking to her, I could feel that she truly cared, and wanted to help. I think it’s important that you have a connection with whoever you decide to hire. I can say without a doubt that I had an immediate connection with her. I later retained her for a custody battle, as well as a criminal matter - both of these matters ending with extremely positive results.
