The facility was super nice and the staff was very friendly. It was our first time there and the vet was very welcoming — she laid out some requirements & some suggestions and I didn’t feel pressured to spend more money than necessary, which is the most important thing when scoping out a new vet. We’ll be back!

After three years as a client, Seven Hills denied Max’s Heartgard refill because his annual exam was overdue on 7/26. I explained that I’m unemployed and couldn’t afford it, though he’s been in several times for allergy shots. All I got was “I’m sorry.” We also see a different doctor every time. I’m finding a new vet.

I was a client here for many years, and in this past year, they have gone so far down hill, I will never be returning. After mishandling an urgently needed dental surgery, they berated me for their mistake, offered no suggestion for how to move forward, and showed no care for my pet. They also grossly overcharged me for medication, and after an email, phone call discussion, and letter to the business, have still not addressed this, even with verbal confirmation that they would. I ended up moving to Ocean Avenue and they are so much more helpful, empathetic, and cheaper, even in the emergency situation I ended up in, than a regular procedure was at Seven Hills. I highly recommend that you all do the same.

At the time of our dog, Franco's X-Ray appointment, Dr. Yu, and the rest of the staff at Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital were extremely helpful and supportive. And especially after the appointment, Dr. Yu's follow up was excellent. She had so much information that she had looked into regarding our dog's wellbeing, it was astounding, and gave me tremendous confidence in her as a veterinarian, and as a person.

I love this Vet hospital. Everyone who works here is so kind and considerate. The vets I have interacted with have been thorough, kind, professional and beyond patient. The front desk staff and vet techs are amazing. This is a fabulous practice and I'd prefer to not share this as I don't want to have issues getting appointments when needed. I'm kidding. Kinda..

Dr Alvin Hong was so nice and the way he communicated with us was so kind. He explained everything so clearly but so understandable in layman’s terms. His explanations included his thought process as he went along from start to finish. We felt very included in the decision making process of his evaluation of our dog’s overall health and then he got specific when it came to the reason we brought her in. Even though you could tell he was having a busy day, he never made us feel rushed and actually took extra time to do a small procedure that needed to be done instead of having us come back. He called us a couple days later in the evening to give us the results of the tests he had done. Again he explained those results very clearly so we could understand what they meant. I really liked his down to earth demeanor. I hope he keeps working there, it’s hard to find a veterinarian these days and to find one like him makes me feel grateful. I didn’t have much contact with the vet tech that helped him in the back where they did the procedure but when she brought our dog out to us in the waiting area she was nice and upbeat. My dog didn’t seem stressed but was glad to see us. The two women at the front desk were pleasant and helpful too. All in all a good experience even though I was stressed out ( as usual ) because I was worried about my dog, we left there feeling good about finding a great veterinarian and support staff. As a bonus the parking situation is great. Edit as of 8/31/26. Dr Hong is no longer there. Long waits for an appointment. Staff doesn’t seem to be caring individuals. The newest vet we saw was Dr Hill. We liked him but the person who trimmed my dogs nails cut them down to the quick and they bled. Don’t let them trim your dogs nails. They will blame the error they made on you or the dog for having long nails. I have my dogs nails trimmed regularly so in 10 years I’ve never had a problem until this place. I hope it didn’t hurt my dog so much she is traumatized by it. She never forgets anything. Use this place with caution. They try to upsell also. I recently thought my dog had a UTI because she kept squatting to pee and nothing was coming out. So we took her to SAGE emergency (called first) waited in a pretty empty waiting room and after an hour and a half was informed by the receptionist we wouldn’t be seen because a UTI isn’t critical. So next day took a urine sample to Seven Hills and asked them to check it for infection. 6 hours later I got a call saying they needed to stick a needle into her bladder under ultrasound to get the sample. I did not like that. The last time this happened they gave me instructions on how to collect a sample. That’s what I took to them. So I ordered some test strips from Amazon for dogs UTI and I knew the answer whether she had an infection 3 days before the appointment they gave me. Can you imagine your doctor making you wait 3-4 days to find out if you had a UTI?

Good place to take your cat or dog. Attentive and kind staff who treat the animals with care. The treatment plan was explained clearly based on the current needs and age of our pets. We’ve gone here before with our dogs and are now going with our cats. Recommend! Plenty of parking too as the clinic is located in a shopping plaza (Diamond Heights).

Update 7/22/2026: this vet gives very inconsistent service. I called today to book an emergency visit for our dog, who has been a patient there since we got her 9 years ago, and they said sorry no appts until 7/30. And that she just gave the last two appointments of this week to the other two callers ahead of us, while we waited on the phone. Unprofessional to even tell is that. We called at 8:35am. They said to go to ocean Ave veterinary hospital. Thanks a lot! Seven hills has all of my dogs health records and history. I just spent over $400 on our dog there just last week for his annual exam and shots. Also when we dropped off his stool sample the receptionist wasn’t very nice and also said the vet wouldn’t be back until Wednesday for results or to look at the photos she asked us to email. Just an odd experience. They have zero loyalty to their long-standing clients and there are always new vets, so the service is inconsistent at best. Update 2025: it looks like they have gotten some new vets. I’ve only seen one so far for a check up and he was much better than our last experience, still to be seen how they handle problems. 2024 Update: unfortunately all of the great vets have left this practice in early 2024. We will have to find a new vet. The recent vet we saw didn't know what was wrong with our dog, didn't come up with a plan for care, and just hummed and hawed, and changed her mind repeatedly and never came up with a plan. This was a follow up appointment after ending up in the ER (days after the first time this vet saw our dog). I had to ask multiple times what the next steps should be and I never got an answer. Our friends who brought our dog for an earlier appointment had a similar experience and our dog got very sick 3 days after seeing the vet and we had to take her to Sage emergency care (which was excellent!). This vet didn't diagnosis or treat our pet properly for her to end up in the emergency room 3 days later. Sage gave her antibiotics and she improved immediately. Also the Seven Hills vet charged $800 to basically do nothing, but give our dog eye drops that didn't work and our dog ended up at the ER. The ER visit cost the same, but they gave our dog pain medicine, IV fluids, a shot of antibiotics and did other diagnostic care plus two kinds of eye drops, antibiotics, an anti-inflammatory, and an eye wash..worth the money! Previous review (5 stars): We just switched to this vet and so far we are very happy. Our dog had her annual exam here and they were very thorough and thoughtful at the appointment. We were able to get an appointment quickly and also follow up vet tech appointments. They have flea collars and medications available at the same price as available online. It was so nice to be at a vet where you get personal attention. It’s also a convenient location with easy parking.

Dear Anna, Apologies for the late response as we had a recent transition on our management team. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear about your recent experience and we completely understand your frustration. This is not the level of care or service we pride ourselves in and we apologize that the services you received from us was less than expected. We deeply regret that that visit did not meet your expectations. We always aim to provide clear communication and a solid plan of care. If the vet provides a plan that does not align with your goals or expectations, we encourage open communication so we can promptly address any issues and concerns you may be having during the time of the appointment. Regarding the eye drops, we apologize if they didn’t provide the relief expected. Our goal is always to offer effective solutions, and we’re sorry that this particular treatment was not successful in managing your dog’s condition. Most treatments and medications our vets recommend help wonderfully, but there may be occasional instances where a particular medication/treatment can help some patients but not all patients. We appreciate your feedback and will review the situation to ensure that we better address similar cases in the future. Sincerely, Kristen Chan Practice Coordinator

Great experience start to finish from booking the appointment, check in, appointment, and check out - thank you! The vet was very knowledgeable, compassionate and kind. I loved that I could hear the vet techs in the back squeal when they saw the two kittens - clearly they are pet lovers too!
