SHOBO MUSIC ACADEMY

My son has been learning trumpet with Mr. Alan for the past two years, and we’ve had a great experience. He always keeps him challenged with new pieces while making sure he doesn’t lose interest or feel overwhelmed. Over the years, my son has had several different teachers, both online and in person, and I’ve found Mr. Alan’s teaching style to be the best fit for him. Some teachers focused so much on articulation and small details that it took too long to finish a piece, and my son would get bored. Others moved through pieces too quickly without giving him enough time to really improve and polish them. Mr. Alan has a great balance. He knows when to work on the details and when it’s time to move on to something new. My son continues to improve while still enjoying playing the trumpet. We’re very happy with his teaching and highly recommend him!

We had a wonderful experience at this music academy, where my child took clarinet lessons for two years. She started from the very basics, and we were so impressed by how much she progressed over the course of her lessons. It has been a great help with playing clarinet in her school band. All of the teachers were kind and supportive, and we really appreciated how quickly they responded to our questions and requests. We are very grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this music school.

We went to Shobo all last year. Unfortunately, we are moving upstate so can no longer attend. My daughter took piano, ukulele and guitar lessons. She only had positive feedback about her time, and as her parent, I was very impressed with Shobo’s attention to detail when communicating and coordinating with parents, something I find to be incredibly rare. We will miss the Shobo family!!

Shobo music academy is a wonderful music school. The administrators and teachers are very kind, professional and knowledgeable. They are patient and kind with students. Highly recommend this music school.

Alan runs the school of music and he is a kind man. Roland was my guitar teacher. He is kind, patient and worked with my schedule. I wish I did not have to move to be able to continue my lessons with him. I recommend him to anyone that wants to learn the guitar. He keeps it fun, interesting and a joy..

I learned durms from Alan. He taught in an easy, kind way, and made me have interests and explore the music. Playing drums with Alan gave me not only so much fun but also inspiration and strength. Thank you! 😆

david is a great teacher. I highly recommend it.

From struggling with basic grooves to playing drum confidently, my drumming has transformed under Alan’s guidance. His technical knowledge is impressive – he explains techniques and encourages me to practice. Lessons are well-organized, he also provides me opportunity adapting if I hit a challenge or want to explore a new style. Highly recommended!

My daughter has been going to Shobo for years and they have just been great. They are so flexible when you are looking for a time slot for a lesson and very kind and patient. I highly recommend Mr. Roland for your lessons. Thank you Shobo!

My son and my daughter took piano classes with Alan Chaubert. Alan was always very patient, kind, and funny with my kids. They learned music theory and learned how to play piano. Attending Shobo Music Academy was a nice and pleasant experience. The recitals were very creative and entertaining. These concerts were lovely social events for our family. I highly recommend Shobo School and Alan Chaubert, in particular.
