Sloat Garden Center at a glance
Customers frequently praise the extensive selection of plants, pots, and gardening supplies, noting that staff are generally friendly and knowledgeable. However, recurring criticisms highlight inconsistent service levels, including long wait times for assistance, limited stock availability, and instances of unresponsive or unwelcoming interactions. Some reviewers also mention that prices are higher than at large retail competitors.

I love coming here for all my gardening needs, whether I’m looking for outdoor plants, seeds, fertilizer, or even something cute to gift someone. It can definitely be pricey, especially when it comes to their indoor plants, but I do think they carry really good-quality stuff. The service is also great, they’re usually always friendly, helpful, and happy to answer questions. I do wish they had a bigger selection of fruit trees, but maybe people just grab them before I get a chance to look, or the selection is limited because of our growing zone lol. I feel like most of their outdoor plants are pretty reasonably priced, but some of the extras, like planters and pots, can get expensive. Overall, it’s still one of my favorite places to browse for plants and gardening supplies, and I usually end up finding something I want every time I go.

Hi Noosh, Thank you for the thoughtful review! We're so glad you keep coming back. If you're hunting for fruit trees, late winter while they're still dormant is when we usually have the best selection. Thank you for shopping local, see you again soon 🌱

I love sloat gardensl center and have been a customer for 20 years. 6 mins before closing and I was in front of the store already and I called just to ask to grab one thing. Standing in the rain and they didnt let me in. Be warned if you make the effort to drive out there close to closing, you won't be served. The young person on the phone answered with the usual greeting but then decided "Yeah we're not open" was my answer. Why did she even answer the phone? No offense sloat gardens but you really could have accomodated one customer or get yourself some better employee service.
