Peter and his crew replaced my old Lutron lighting system that had stopped working and could not be repaired. It was a big job with a 7,300 sq ft house. They were very professional and thorough and did a great job which took several weeks to complete. I could not have been happier with the results and they were a pleasure to work with. Eight months after completion a hallway lighting failed and Pete came out to investigate. As it turned out the problem was unrelated to their installation or equipment. Pete fixed it anyway and would not let me pay him for the service call.I highly recommend these guys!

It was a pleasure helping you troubleshoot the network speed bottleneck and Wi-Fi speed issues in your home. In many cases, especially in a home under 3,000 square feet, (with a low device count), slow performance is not always about needing an full system replacement. Sometimes it comes down to identifying the potential bottleneck, evaluating the wiring paths and equipment, and making smart, targeted adjustments. It really helped that you are also pretty savvy with all this IT stuff!
Over the past 20 years, Ive learned its best to give honest guidance based on what actually makes sense for each home, the goals, and the budget. I’m glad we were able to help pinpoint the throttling issue, talk through your ISP equipment and all the things you can adjust in the equipment settings on your end, as well as give you practical (realistic) direction on Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7, access point deployment. I really do believe quality home network and smart home advice should be clear, helpful, and tailored to the situation, whether that means a selling a fully managed network installation package or simply helping to optimize the equipment you already have over a quick phone call. Please never hesitate to reach back out!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Smarter Homes and Peter Sandford, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish.
Our goal was to extend reliable internet service from our main structure out to our workshop, which previously had no connectivity. Peter designed a simple but professional solution by running a direct-burial Cat6 line between the structures, creating a hard wired connection that delivers fast, stable internet exactly where we needed it.
What impressed us most was Peter’s attention to detail and understanding of infrastructure. Rather than trying to patch together a temporary fix, he installed a proper long-term solution that ensures the connection is reliable and performs just like it does inside the house. The installation was clean, organized, and clearly done by someone who knows what they’re doing.
Now our workshop has full internet connectivity, which has made a huge difference in how we use the space. Everything works perfectly, and the performance is rock solid.
If you need networking or smart home work done, Smarter Homes and Peter are absolutely the people to call. Professional, knowledgeable, and results driven. we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
