We’ve been to this spa several times before and have always had a great experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. Unfortunately, this time the massage felt very awkward and uncomfortable from beginning to end.
It honestly seemed like the therapists were unsure of what they were doing, and the technique did not feel professional or relaxing. There were also multiple moments where they got much closer to certain areas than we were comfortable with, which made the entire experience feel uneasy instead of calming.
We both left feeling sore and in pain rather than relaxed or refreshed. We’ve had good experiences here in the past, so we really wanted to give this visit the benefit of the doubt, but this was completely different from what we had experienced before.
Because of how uncomfortable the entire appointment made us feel, we unfortunately will not be returning.

My fiancé booked a massage for my birthday and OH. MY. GOSH.... this was AMAZING!!!! From start to finish, they make sure to cater to your every need. They provided me with fresh drinks, food, let me pick the music to listen to during the massage, what essential oils to use, what after-massage drink you want, etc. THEN... this is the best part...I come out to a slice of BIRTHDAY CAKE WITH A CANDLE IN IT! I'm telling you, this is the place to go. Soft robes, an amazing therapist (BEVERLY!!!), and wonderful service means I will be returning.
Beverly was wonderful!! She made my experience so personalized and made sure I was comfortable throughout the massage. It was easily the best massage I’ve ever had.

I used to come here..... until they hired a gentleman with a very sketchy background who has now been known all over social media to be extremely inappropriate with female clients during massages, and after clients and employees reported multiple incidents nothing happened. That was enough for me to find a new spa to frequent.
Had a prenatal massage and it was a fantastic experience. Staff are all kind, my therapist was fantastic, and the place is very clean and calming. Also got a little snack and drink (I chose tea) at the end :)
Do you want a dose of Heaven? Go to Spalation. I first heard of Spalation about 10 years ago, and am so mad I waited until today to check it out. I booked the June package with a 60 minute massage (including hot stones) and 30 minutes of foot reflexology. Joe was AMAZING. I am convinced he is made of magic. From the individualized choices for your massage, to the care showed by the staff for their patrons (including limiting sound and clean shoe protocol for the therapeutic spaces), to the special touch of a sweet treat to greet you as you re-enter the real world.
This was hands down the best spa experience I have ever had in KC.
We LOVE this place. I don’t think I’ve had a bad massage but I prefer Joe or Amy. My husband likes Heather. The details they offer make it feel like a spa day!

A comfortable and relaxing environment, fantastic masseuses, and they do lots of little things that make your experience unforgettable. (Aromatherapy, foot massages, snacks, etc.)

I’ve had several massages over the years and all have been great but it takes some skill doing what they do here. I didn’t have to talk or say what was good/bad. Best massage I’ve had. Not surprised by all the basically 5 star reviews. Worth it 100%
