We have been taking our dog here for many years! She is now 16 years old and we really appreciate the team at Spawtlight being patient with her and making her look fresh after each visit. Highly recommend!

This review is long overdue! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Spawlight. They always do a beautiful job with my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. The girls come home looking absolutely adorable, and it is clear they are treated with such kindness and care while they're there.

What means the most to me is how excited my dogs are every time they arrive. They happily run in and are genuinely happy to see the staff, which gives me so much peace of mind. As any dog owner knows, there is no better endorsement than a dog who can't wait to go back.

The quality of the grooming is consistently excellent, and I recommend this place to everyone I know.

[BEWARE] NEW 2025 REVIEW !!

Today, I brought my dog in to get his nails clipped. When I brought my dog in, one of the women began to clip my dogs nails and began speaking to the other woman ( in front of me) about my dog. She began to say that he had matts in certain areas etc. When I brought him in, I already told the woman that my dog was in between grooms, a bit shaggy (he's a curly headed poodle) and I wanted to schedule an appointment for a grooming appointment.

Mind you, my dog also has really bad skin allergies and was very red in some areas. After she finished clipping his nails, I calmly addressed her about her comments concerning my dog and how I felt they were very judgmental and unnecessary. She then began to tell me that they were discussing that he was “not fixed” which is still none of their business. I educated her that I was following the direction of my vet to wait and how it was “still” none of her business. She was speaking to me in such a degrading manner as if I did not know how to take care of my dog. Why would you speak poorly of an animal ?

When I continued to share about my experience, the woman began to push me out of her store (physically) and the other woman threatened to call security on me for addressing them about their professionalism. I live locally in some of the local high rises in the area, and as I headed back home, I ran into a neighbor who said her mother ( who was also a woman of color) had a bad experience with these women the same week. She said they quoted her one price over the phone and charged her another price in person and was also very rude to her.

So this gave me confirmation that these women are just VILE and unprofessional. If you are a person of color OR an ally. DO NOT bring your pets here. They want to take your money and disrespect you at the same time. Sometimes businesses need to loose money in order to gain some respect. In these times that we are living in, it is essential to place your money where you are valued and respected and this place IS NOT IT!! Save your money and go to other local groomers around the area. There are a plenty around that value you, mind their business, respect you, and do their job. When I let the woman know that I would write a review, she encouraged me to "Go Ahead", so here it is! I am warning you once again, DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!! They don't respect you, speak poorly of pets, and ONLY want your money. Thank you!

It was my puppy’s first time getting groomed and they did an amazing job. I was able to get a same-day appointment right before I had to leave out of town which helped out a lot. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much for all you do!

• Price assessment: Great price
• Services: Dog grooming, Dog bathing and blow dry, Dog full service grooming

The new owners are really kind and a great addition to the community. The store seems cleaner and better run with them in charge, it used to be an out of state owner, so local animal lovers taking over has made the grooming and the store front a fantastic local spot for Little Italy and San Diego as a whole!

I just moved to the area and found Spawtlight through a google search of my local area. I’m so particular about where I bring my pup and they did a phenomenal job. I haven’t stopped recommending them to friends with dogs. When I pick him up he feels so fresh and plush, they listened perfectly to my request not to cut him too short which I was afraid of, having a Pom. Couldn’t be happier, it’s most definitely our new spot.

Our dogs have been getting groomed here for three and a half years, and we've always been happy with the results.

By far the best place I’ve ever taken my dogs to get groomed been going for years now. They do an amazing job and aren’t overpriced at all.
