Standish Village Assisted Living & Compass Memory Support Community

I could go on and on about the care and support my husband and I received during our short term respite care and Standish Village . Everyone on the staff could not have been nicer, and I mean everyone! This place is a hidden gem and that anyone who is considering Assisted Living, memory care or in our case short term care must consider. We truly felt comfortable while we recovered from a horrific car accident .The activities are creative and inviting. PS if we could give them 10 stars we would!!

My 85-year-old mother resides in the compass Memory Support unit at Standish Village Assisted Living, and our family has had a wonderful experience. The staff is incredibly compassionate, patient, and supportive, which gives us great peace of mind knowing she is in such caring hands. Arielle is truly one of a kind. She goes above and beyond for both the residents and their families, always working hard to ensure everyone's needs are met. Her kindness, dedication, and willingness to make things happen are remarkable. Emily is absolutely amazing as well. She is always willing to go the extra mile to provide additional support and will step in whenever needed. Her positive attitude and commitment to the residents do not go unnoticed. Lynda has been a true Godsend to our family. Her compassion and genuine care make such a difference in the lives of the residents and their loved ones. Standish Village Assisted Living is a place where love, dignity, and compassion are evident every day. We are so grateful to the entire team for the exceptional care they provide to my mother. I highly recommend Standish to anyone looking for a memory care community that truly treats residents like family.

Standish Village has been a great match for my Aunt. She has been there for about 2 years, and loves it. I decided on Standish ,because of all the activities they offer. She attends all of them, but mostly enjoys Bingo and the nightly movies. She loves being with people ,and the residents are so friendly. The staff is has been wonderful, they go above, and beyond to ensure the residents are well taken care of. It truly is a lovely place.

Just wanted to take a moment update my review and to express my family’s sincere gratitude for the wonderful care and compassion that my mother has received at Standish Village. My mother has been part of the Standish Village community for several years, and during that time, we’ve witnessed firsthand the warmth, professionalism, and dedication of every staff member—from the receptionists who cheerfully chit-chat with every resident like a friend, to the aides who provide daily support required and not required with genuine care, to the nursing team who always go above and beyond to ensure every need is met and the accounting department who made it so easy to transition back. A couple of months ago, due to personal financial constraints, our family made the difficult decision to relocate my mother to another facility. However, it didn’t take long—less than eight weeks—for us to realize that no other place could match the level of care, compassion, and sense of family that Standish Village provides. In hindsight, we also realized that when we moved her, we had unknowingly taken her away from her family—the Standish Village community that has loved, supported, and cared for her as one of their own. The relief that our family feels with the utmost confidence our mother is taken care of leaves us at such peace. Bringing her back was one of the easiest and most heartfelt decisions we’ve ever made. Please extend our deepest appreciation to your entire staff for the love and professionalism they show every day. It is clear that Standish Village is not just a place to live—it is truly a home filled with people who care. UPDATED 11/6/2025 We made the decision several years ago to transition my mother from living with us to living at an assisted living facility due to her medical conditions. This decision took us several years to make and many visits to different places and by far we kept coming back to Standish Village because it did not feel like a facility but it felt like a home. The building is beautiful, full of amenities and well maintained. The staff is truly caring and patient. They talk to my mother not as a client but as a friend or family member. Even though my mother initially resisted going to Standish Village, she now enjoys living there very much and has been living at Standish for several years. Standish Village has provided us the opportunity for her to be just our Mom and us just to be her children.

Good place great staff

My mother is in the Dorchester facility and we couldn't have picked a better place. The staff and administrators are caring, diligent, and patient. My mom loves it here and this is after she fought and resisted being moved to assisted living. She has made friends and enjoys the activities. And she loves her studio apartment. Standish Village has been a blessing.

Moving my dad into Standish Village was one of the best decisions we ever made. From the moment I first called for information, the staff's warmth and genuine kindness made me feel at ease. They took the time to understand my dad's needs and preferences, ensuring every detail was perfect. The level of care and attention provided was truly exceptional. What stood out the most was the compassion and patience shown by the entire team especially the director, Arielle. She treated my dad with the utmost respect and dignity, making him feel valued and at home and she consistently went above and beyond to support our entire family during the move. The vibrant and inclusive community atmosphere, with plenty of activities and social events, has given us peace of mind knowing he is in good hands. I highly recommend Standish Village to anyone looking for a caring and supportive senior living community.

Standish Village is an amazing place with wonderful, caring staff. When my mom could no longer live on her own, we moved her into Standish Village so she could be close by and have a community of her own. From the very first conversations with Arielle, who helped us choose an apartment, we knew it was the right place. Jessi, the Resident Care Director is always attentive, communicates often and and made my mom feel at home instantly. When my mom needed to go to the ER and I was away on vacation, Katie, also in nursing, reassured me and kept me updated. Nina, in the business office, is always lovely and helpful. Everyone from the front desk staff such as Peggy, to the dining room staff, maintenance (Mike) and recreation/activities (Brian and Kathy) took excellent care of my mom and made us feel like family. I cannot begin to name all the aides, but they, including Sivitri, Marie, Ruth, Anna and others were all kind and caring. My mom referred to them all as her friends. When you cannot be with your loved ones every moment, at Standish Village, you'll know that they are not only safe, but appreciated. Although my mother only lived here for 16 months, when she passed away at 92 after a beautiful, long life, everyone at Standish grieved with me. That is a true community, and I am grateful to know them.

I can’t say enough about the wonderful experience we had at Standish Village. We needed a local, short-stay option for my father, and the flexibility and personalized service he received during his stay were incredible. We had peace of mind throughout thanks to constant, timely communication with staff. Accommodations were clean and beautiful, food was excellent and the menu varied and interesting, and my dad made friends and felt comfortable right away. It fit a gap perfectly during a challenging time for our family and we couldn’t be more grateful. Especially grateful to Paul Fuller for the absolutely incredible service and thoughtful communication!

My Aunt moved into Standish for respite and it was the perfect place for her. She was loved and cared for in the short time she was there. The studio apartments feel big with the 15 ft ceilings and the large windows. Staff knew her quickly, she loved the food and the tiers they offer of care came in handy. They work well with outside agencies and were so attentive.
