UPDATE to Owner Response: I walked in on September 17th as a walk-in for a standard acrylic set. The owner simply yelled "acrylic" across the room to assign me to a technician, which is why I am not in your pre-booked appointment system. I have uploaded a cropped screenshot of my bank statement showing the explicit transaction details from your Toluca Lake location to clear up your records. I still left a 20% tip despite the poor treatment from the technician, which is why my total bill came to $87.<br><br>I walked in explicitly asking for a standard acrylic set, but the technician aggressively trying to upsell me on gel. Because she didn't get the upcharge, she rushed through my set and did a completely sloppy job. She completely flooded my cuticles with thick acrylic. After just one week, the thick, un-filed edges near the base make my nails look like they have weeks of messy, old outgrowth. It was unprofessional service and a waste of money right before my birthday. I am a busy nurse! I went before my birthday on my day off so I won’t need to rush and do it too close to my birthday. I will not be back

Olivia is the bestest in the entire world at nails! She has been taking care of my nails/feet for ten years and it is always a great experience. Star Nails is my favorite. Highly Recommend ❤️

The place was very clean and smells really nice. No chemical smell at all. They have massage chairs, which I love very much.<br>Dian did my pedicure and she was very sweet. She was very gentle and very attentive. She took the time to shape my nails and clean my cuticles. My pedicure came out really looking nice and clean. I highly recommend getting the deluxe pedi. My skin feels smooth and soft. The whole staff was really nice, as well. Will definitely come back for Dian.

Olivia did an incredible job on my manicure! I’ve always had difficult, weak, and ugly nails that have left many nail techs frustrated and confused over the years — they’re brittle, uneven, discolored, and full of ridges, among other problems. I had planned to just get a regular gel manicure and hope for the best, but Olivia immediately suggested using poly gel to strengthen and smooth out my nails. I was so shocked by how well it worked that I kept telling her she was a “nail wizard” and couldn’t stop staring at my own nails, which finally looked like actual normal nails for once! Polish always comes off my nails quickly, even gel, but it’s been almost four weeks now and the poly gel is still on there! I’m so glad to have found this place and Olivia, and I look forward to going back and seeing the nail wizard perform her magic again.<br><br>EDIT: Olivia continues to be great, but the other nail techs I’ve seen here didn’t listen to me and messed up my nails. I made appointments for myself and my friend at the same time, and when we came in together, they didn’t even acknowledge my friend for at least 45 minutes, and when they finally did, they literally drilled into her nail beds, leaving holes and ridges in her nails and making her cuticles bleed. When I made the appointment, I had specifically asked for Olivia, but when I got there, they told me she was busy, and the person who did my nails instead left my nails uneven and unkempt. One manicurist kept insisting I do gel X instead of builder gel even though I had said I wanted builder gel, and Olivia had to come over and fix it herself. Would absolutely come back for Olivia, but apparently I can’t guarantee that I’ll get her, and now my friend and I both have messed up nails because we went here.

This was the fast nail appointment that I’ve ever had. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and they look spot on. I love the color and design. They were up front about pricing and made sure I was satisfied with every detail of the appointment. Definitely will be back!

I was really looking forward to trying this nail salon a few days ago, I booked a deluxe pedicure (starts at ~$50) and asked to add gel + French tip. The service was friendly, but the quality of the nails was lacking. One of my big toe nails was cut completely crooked, I asked my nail tech if she could please straighten it out, but that didn’t help. Also, some of my toe nails look like they’re missing French tips and/or the line work is messy. /:<br>I ended up paying $85 + tip for a pedicure whose quality did not match the price tag.
