Stepping Stones Lawns and Landscaping

Brandon and his team did a great job on the erosion issue we had in our backyard. He is very knowledgeable and gave great ideas. They completed the project pretty quickly and it looks great. His quote was very competitive with other companies in the area. He also took the time to quote some other issues going on in our yard. I highly recommend them.

Brandon came for the estimate, and we discussed the project. (I also called 3 other companies) He got back to me in timely fashion with a good price. A start date was given for September 25th. He and his brother Jordan came (later than expected that morning as he had to find a tool), weed wacked all remaining weeds, built up the side island with soil, laid landscape fabric to prevent weeds, shoveled, transported, and laid all stone, and planted roses within a 4 day time frame. All deliveries for the dirt and stone were timely. They worked their tails off and cleaned up pretty well. I asked them to remove some stray rocks, and of course, they did. And Brandon dug up a stubborn, dying azalea bush for me. Throughout the project, Brandon was respectful, professional, and accommodating. I wish I would have chosen a deeper colored stone, but that was my choice. He suggested some plants for the side island which I like, so he'll come back in the spring for that. Also, the roses he brought are guaranteed and if they die, he'll be able to replace them free. And, if any weeds start showing up, he said he'll come take care of it. Brandon is honest and hard working which I appreciate greatly. Thanks Stepping Stones.

I can second some of the more recent reviews. He does show up for a very short time, take care of a task or two and then leave. The end result is that a project that should only take a couple of days gets dragged out to a month or so. The price was decent but the quality of the work was not. The area is overrun with weeds and is a complete disaster a few months after the work was done. The necessary steps weren't taken so that weeds would not quickly return. I expressed as much at the time of the work but it was dismissed. The end result is that we're having to find another landscaper to redo everything.

If you're thinking of calling this company, DO NOT. I say again, DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY. I had Brandon (the owner) come out to quote me a job of fixing my backyard since it needed grading, new sod, and a french drain installed. The initial conversations with him were great. Very professional and responsive. The actual work itself was another story. Brandon and his "crew", which consists of some guy I think he pays by the day that he claims is his "partner" and some other high school looking kid, showed up each day almost around 12:00 noon. Each day I had to reach out to Brandon to ask when they would start and where they were. The job that we talked about that should have taken MAYBE 3 days, took 5 and it's still incomplete. On day 5, after we'd had SEVERAL conversations on what needed to be done, he vanished with his stuff. I called him and said "Hey where are you? Are you done?" And he says, "Yeah." That's where my frustration really boiled over. I explained to him for 45 minutes how there's no way he's complete with the project and he said "Yeah fine I can come complete like in like an hour", but at this point, I was so disgusted with the quality of the work I refused for him to come back. I was so frustrated by the lack of quality, communication, and just overall professionalism that I didn't want him wasting EVEN MORE TIME on this project. There were SO many issues with this project that it's literally so hard to post in one review. There are still huge chunks of sod missing, they left rocks all over when they did the french drain which my puppy could have eaten and choked, they left trash on the site each day, and much, much more. As you can see in the pictures, Brandon and his "crew" have no idea what to do with french drains. The sod is incredibly uneven, the patch work is terrible, the end of the french drain is actually sticking up from the ground. If you're looking for a severe headache, then call these guys. Let me recap the issues: - Day 1: sod arrived early in the morning, him and his "crew" showed up late, dug a trench, left. - Day 2: excavated the yard, sod still sat. - Day 3: sod finally starts to go down. no top soil was laid. they nearly broke my irrigation system by "lifting" it up from the pipe itself and he had ZERO idea on what an irrigation system even was. - Day 4: continuing to lay sod, but didn't have enough material because he "didn't measure right" - Day 5: he shows up by himself, lays some sod, throws pinestraw down, leaves. Zero walk through, zero accountability.

Do not use this company. This wall is about month old. They are not returning my calls. They have been paid.

Initial communication was great. Came out to see my yard. Told me he would get back with an estimate and never heard from him. Sent a reminder text to check in. Brandon responded that he was working on my quote and would email it the next day. Never heard from him. Just disappointed in the professionalism. Everyone is busy but it takes two seconds to respond “I don’t think we will be able to take on your project.” Glad his business his doing so well that he can treat customers like that.

Very happy with the work Brandon and his guys have done on my yard. They are very nice and professional and do a great job. The prices are very reasonable as well. I will continue using them for all my yard needs in the future. ☺️
