Called in a panic to inquire about emergency plumbing services due a flood in my apartment. The lady who answered the phone was rude and unprofessional, as if i was inconveniencing her with a phone call that lasted less than a minute. Talking about "a policy we've had for years", when they don't even have a website listed to know that policy! I'm glad I'm not going with these people, because God knows how I would have been treated by the people doing the work if someone answering the phone can't be bothered to treat others with kindness and professionalism.

I am Steve & have a response for Gabe. Emergency services are something we very often help people with, an integral part of our business. Vermilllion SD has a high ratio of housing units occupied by renters and we do often get calls from renters needing help. But please consider that landlords have their preferred service vendors that they use on their properties. Also, consider the possibility of legal consequences that landlords could choose to take against persons or businesses who modify their structures without permission. Consider as well the fact that on numerous occasions renters themselves have caused some sort of "emergency" and are actively trying to conceal damages or other issues from the landlord. As to kindness now, the person you talked to is quite well known in the whole community and is noted for her kindness. But to sum it up, we have not accepted work requested by tenants without authorization from the property owner for decades and have never been given a bad review on that point. Most businesses have terms for doing business. You were advised of our terms and did not like the fact that we have limits. No negativity was expressed in this interaction by ourselves, you yourself chose that path. We are sorry you had a landlord that did not respond to your problem... have you written a negative review for them? If you should choose the clear matters with a landlord prior to making a request for service from our business, and He/She contacts us with approval and payment arrangement we will gladly assist you in the future. You have raised a valid point, I have amended our Google business page to advise tenants/renters that we do not accept service request from them, rather they should have the landlord/owner place service request calls. Thank You

Thanks Nathan, we do try to assist homeowners through their issues. But as I said to Nathan, I rather enjoyed sitting in my warm home helping him rather than driving up north at night then getting home late!

Our water heater went out and was under warranty but we had no idea who to call or what to do. We are not from Vermillion but saw he dealt with that brand. Steve helped my husband and made many phone calls to locate a water heater that we needed and help direct us to who to call. He didn't have to go above and beyond to help us, but he did. We are so appreciative and highly recommend this business.
