One of the places left in Chicago with czech roots. School, informative center, educational meeting spot. Thanks to the people working/helping here it's really a pleasure to visit this place.
A wonderful place to learn Czech language, history, and culture. Kristyna is a very patient and helpful instructor of the Czech language while Irena and Klara facilitate interesting classes for adults. I wish I still lived closer so I could take advantage of the many in-person programs they offer.
I have taken online Zoom language courses offered through the T.G. Masaryk school for about a year now. I've had a great experience with a wonderful teacher and classmates, and feel that my Czech language skills are progressing.
Kristýna is an amazing teacher!! I have taken several classes online and am continuing on. This school offers many levels throughout the year and fun activities in between. I would highly recommend this school.
What a terrific service to the Czech-American community! Thanks to online classes, I feel connected to other Czech descendants who live around the country. Klara, Irena, and Kristyna are all wonderful ladies who go above and beyond. They work so incredibly hard to create community with lots of innovative programming, both in person and online. I don't live in Chicago, but I've taken several adult history classes, which Irena moderates, and a language class with Kristyna. The history classes, which draw upon university professors from Czechia, are especially good because the school hosts study groups in which I've learned as much from classmates as the professors. I just completed my first language class with Kristyna, who assessed my proficiency level and suggested a level where I felt comfortable. As others have said, she's a very talented teacher and so kind. I feel like my Czech has improved a great deal in a short time, and I've already signed up for two more classes with her. When I visited the school in person a couple of years ago, I felt immediately welcomed. I was impressed with Klara, Irena, and Kristyna's care for the historic building, their neighborhood, and especially for the children that they teach in weekend schools. I would have loved having a chance to have that kind of experience when I was child. As it is, I feel blessed to be connected to the school in my retirement.
The classes offered are very well taught and excellent. Kristýna is an awesome teacher and I highly recommend T. G. Masaryk School and their staff for all your education needs!

After my retirement, I was looking for my next adventure. Being Czech, I always was fascinated by the language and traditions. When a friend told me about TG Masaryk Czech School, I looked into classes. Now, a year later, I have participated in 6 progressive zoom classes. Ive learned useful phrases, vocabulary and grammar along with history, customs and lifestyle in the Czech Republic, Moravia and Slovakia. My teacher Kristyna, is patient and knowledgeable and I always look forward to class. The school also offers concerts, lectures and fabulous bake sales! Czech language classes offered by the school are excellent. Taught by native speakers who also incorporate an understanding of Czech culture. I used lessons learned during a visit to Prague shortly after completing the beginners course. Very much appreciated Krystina’s gifted teaching.
