We've used Tangled Roots several times for tree removal, thinning, and topping. They respond to inquiries in a reasonable time and show up on time and as planned. Mel is very knowledgable and honest about assessments for tree health and/or danger. He confirms decisions and is meticulous with the cleanup. He may offer several options depending on the circumstances, and stays within his estimates. There are no surprises. I highly recommend Tangled Roots and will contact Mel whenever we need tree help on our largely wooded property.

Excellent choice for tree removal. Mel and his team removed a dead birch tree and multiple large shrubs from flower beds which were close to our house and septic system. They came in very cheerful and happy to work. I’ve never seen trees get removed so swiftly and efficiently. They left the flower beds in beautiful shape despite ripping out large root systems. Highly recommend. A great local small business!

Melvin was responsive, detail-oriented, and great to work with. After discussing the project, he returned the next week to trim the arborvitae and remove the tree as discussed. He and his crew did a great job and left the place spotless.
He even offered to return on a drier day to grind the stump out without damaging the lawn.
Very happy with the work. Melvin is officially "my tree guy".

We've lived in Bellingham for almost 30 years and had MANY different companies take care of the trees on our 5-acre property...a mix of cedar, spruce, hemlock, large and small leaf maple and alder. Tangled Roots is the best group we've ever had out...reasonable quote, on time, organized, top-notch equipment, efficient...and they cleaned everything up so our property looked amazing when they left. As they cut, trimmed, chipped and secured a large number of trees on our property, Melvin and his crew worked very well together...and they all seemed to be enjoying their work as well. We have found our tree company, for all of our future arborist needs. OUTSTANDING!!
