Working with Sam has genuinely changed the way my husband and I understand and parent our 11-year-old son. She helped us recognize the difference between behavior that is intentional and behavior driven by ADHD, working-memory limitations, and an overwhelmed nervous system. Her explanation of our son’s smaller “mental desktop” gave us language for challenges we had been experiencing for years but didn’t fully understand. Sam never makes us feel as though we must choose between compassion and accountability. Instead, she has helped us find the middle ground: maintaining clear expectations and consequences while responding to the child actually in front of us. She provides practical tools and specific language we can use in real situations—not vague parenting advice that sounds lovely but falls apart the moment everyone is frustrated. She has also helped my husband and me better understand each other’s parenting perspectives and work toward a more consistent approach. We still have difficult moments, but we are becoming less reactive, more curious, and much better equipped to identify the actual problem before trying to correct it. Sam is warm, honest, knowledgeable, and remarkably good at making complicated concepts understandable. I’m incredibly grateful for the difference her guidance has already made in our family.

Words cannot describe what a complete gem Sam is. I do not know what I would do without her. There are simply so many things about her that make her wonderful: her wisdom, presence, kindness, intelligence, humor, experience with parents and teens, and her clear communication style are just SOME of the many things I really appreciate about her. I take tons of notes during our sessions about actual practical tools to apply and great books and resources. She also recently started a monthly membership model to allow other parents to connect with each other and provide additional support and education for parents.
