From the moment we arrived at Carrey Garden, we knew we had found something special. Whenever someone asked where our wedding would be, I’d say, “It’s someone’s home turned into a wedding venue.” But once our guests arrived, they couldn’t tell the difference—it felt like a professionally designed, breathtaking space. The venue’s charm begins the moment you pull into the spacious parking lot and catch your first glimpse of the grounds. A beautiful archway welcomes you in, instantly transporting you into a magical setting. Our guests loved the unique features like the putt-putt green and cozy outdoor fire pits perfect for making s’mores. One of the highlights was the koi pond—it’s a fairytale-like fountain that added a romantic touch rarely seen at weddings. The upper level of the venue was ideal for group photos, and the bar, a charming little building with domestic keg hookups, was a hit with our guests. The bathrooms were easily accessible, with a thoughtful option near the bridal suite for senior guests. The grassy area was perfect for kids to play and enjoy lawn games, and the enormous tent with its stunning chandelier created a dreamy atmosphere for our reception. The dance floor was spacious enough for everyone to enjoy, whether dancing or relaxing to the music. The bridal and groomsmen suites were beautifully set up and had everything we needed to feel comfortable and pampered. I especially appreciated the well-lit bridal suite—it made getting ready feel extra special. And the lending library was a game-changer! It allowed us to save money by reusing beautiful decorations that would otherwise go to waste. Doug and Penny, the venue owners, were absolutely incredible. We had a unique request: a small, intimate micro-wedding one day, followed by a larger celebration the next weekend. They supported us every step of the way, even taking time to talk with us while on vacation. Their guidance and reassurance helped us feel confident in every decision. They also provided a fantastic list of recommended vendors and services, many of which we used. DJ Dougie kept the energy high and nailed every cue, and Penny—such a sweetheart—stepped in on our wedding day to help coordinate everything seamlessly. The professionalism of everyone involved was top-notch; my husband was even surprised when he was called “sir”—a testament to the training and care Doug and Penny put into their team. In summary, our experience at Carrey Garden was nothing short of amazing. The venue is stunning, the team is exceptional, and the packages they offer make planning easy and stress-free. I’m so grateful we found this gem and the wonderful people behind it. I can confidently say—we have zero regrets. Highly recommend Carrey Garden for your wedding day. It’s a place where memories are made and dreams come true.

I Attended a wedding here a couple weeks ago. Things went decent except for the groomsmen private room was robbed sometime immediately after the ceremony. Now I understand the robbery isn’t the venues fault; but the venues reaction to it is the issue. They had security cameras that “don’t work because we got new phones last week”, they blamed the wedding party for leaving their valuables in the the groomsmen shed unlocked, even though the venue provided coordinator took all their phones, wallets, and keys and put them in the shed herself (and was the last one in there before the robbery). They also continue, even now, to not own up to their own mistake and have been rude to the bride and groom since the events. The venue host, Penny, had the gall to demand payment for the bartender (the venue host’s son) at the end of the night despite having been robbed. She couldn’t wait a day to let things settle before looking for payment. To summarize; wedding party got robbed during the ceremony (phones, wallets, keys, and a car), venues security measures were (knowingly to the host) not working, venue hosts (Doug and Penny) blame the wedding party on the robbery for leaving valuables in provided rooms despite venue coordinator placing them in there. Absolutely zero care from the venue, despite their lack of security measures. Traumatic event on what’s supposed to be the best day of their lives, but for the venue it’s just another wedding to which they made their money and another robbery on their property.

The Carey Gardens is such a a wonderful place to get married. Such a beautiful place. We received so many compliments from our guest on how perfect and beautiful the venue was. There were many different places for guests to mingle and enjoy the reception. Doug and Penny are so helpful and involved throughout the planning process.

Carey Gardens was everything I could have dreamed of and more for our wedding day. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. Beautiful grounds, peaceful atmosphere, and charming details everywhere you look. What truly made the experience unforgettable were the hosts, Penny and Doug. They are some of the kindest, most welcoming people I've ever met. From the moment we toured the space, they made us feel like family. What really set Carey Gardens apart was how convenient and comprehensive everything was. They offered a free and expansive lending library for décor, which was such a thoughtful touch and saved us time and money. Most other venues we looked at only offered this for an extra charge. Penny and Doug also provided the option to make our cake, DJ the event, teach us dance lessons, and even coordinate the bussing team. All of which were top-notch. It was like a one-stop-shop for everything we needed, which helped ease so much of the stress that usually comes with planning a wedding. I can’t recommend Carey Gardens enough. If you're looking for a venue that’s beautiful, warm, and run by genuinely amazing people, this is the place. Thank you, Penny and Doug, for making our day so magical!

Aidan and Anna: How can we ever put into words what a wonderful bride and groom to work with. Each and every staff person that day was thrilled to work with you and your families to make it the BEST DAY EVER. From the first contact with you, we knew it was going to be a great partnership. Now that your beautiful day has come and gone, we can truly say the pleasure and blessing was on us to have you and your loved ones here at The Carey Gardens. May you find the greatest love of all that can be found between two very special people. Doug and Penny

Edit: Since writing this review, Penny, (the owner) forwarded us an email between her and another venue owner in the area claiming this review was was our way to “come after” them and “blame everything” on them despite their attempt to do the same to us. If this was intentional, it’s very odd and unprofessional behavior. I hope they learn from this experience and take accountability instead of blaming and bad-mouthing their couples moving forward. We got married at The Carey Gardens August 2024 and couldn’t be happier with our ceremony. We felt all the love and care everyone poured into our event to make it special for us. Doug and Penny have major attention to detail and always have the bride and groom at the center of decision making. We did have an unfortunate event occur at some point during the day. The Grooms Suite was robbed and all the groomsmen (including groom) had items stolen including phones, keys, wallets, and bags. We even had a groomsman get his car stolen. The bridal party kept it from us to make sure we still had the best day ever, but it was still very traumatic and deeply upsetting. It was disappointing to find out the venue did not have any working camera security system (we were told it was an older system that wouldn’t connect to their new phones) or secure place for the boys to put their valuables. After speaking with the owners the following day, they verbally expressed that they’d be installing better camera security systems, a safe in the grooms suite bolted to the wall to keep valuables, and barbed wire lining the fence line behind the grooms suite to detract intruders. This made us feel confident they were taking proper precautions to prevent this type of incident in the future. The wedding industry in the greater Seattle area is very small so it didn’t take long for us to be put in contact with another couple just a few days later who had also gotten robbed the year prior. After connecting with them, it was clear the incidents were not related. However, they were also told by the venue that they installed new security system and a lock on the grooms suite (which our bridal party was never told about to utilize for our event). We were concerned that if this other couple had been told those things, then why a year later was the “new” security system too old to work or connect to their phones? We reached back out to Penny and Doug to clear the air and get confirmation they actually were implementing the changes they promised us several days prior. We were met with a very defensively toned email placing blame on our bridal party for not utilizing the lock (which we were never told about and never given a code to) and blaming our groomsmen for leaving their valuables unattended (which they did not, our coordinator - who happens to be affiliated with the venue - took all our groomsmen’s valuables as they were lined up for the ceremony and placed them in the unlocked grooms suite herself.) My husband and I have remained patient and understanding through this whole situation because we truly understand that this type of incident can happen anywhere. What doesn’t sit right with us is the resistance to prevent something like this from happening in the future. It happened to us and it’s unfortunate and we’re moving on and remembering the good parts of our day. But at the end of the day it would eat us alive if it happened to another couple and we didn’t do everything in our power to prevent that because it’s been an absolute nightmare (at the time of writing this review, the stolen car has still not been recovered) This is not a review to avoid Carey Gardens. To reiterate, they took the absolute best care of us. However, we felt it would be a disservice not to warn future brides and grooms to please please take advantage of the new safety features that Doug and Penny have claimed they’re installing.
