This is our third time hosting a cocktail party at the Swoop-Duggins House. The location is perfect for a crowd of 85 with bars on both levels and a courtyard perfect for live music. The food and service is outstanding. We will be back for our 4th cocktail party in 2028!!

We couldn’t have asked for a better venue and team for our wedding celebration! Linda and Meghann were absolutely amazing throughout the entire planning process. They helped coordinate so many moving pieces and vendors — including our florals, tarot card reader, photo booth, dinner, DJ, sparklers and even our alligator disco ball! They made everything come together seamlessly and took so much stress out of the lead-up to the wedding. The party itself was incredible. Swoop Duggins is such a beautiful and unique New Orleans venue, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved the space, the food, and the specialty cocktails. It was such a special night for us, and we’re incredibly appreciative of the Swoop Duggins team for helping make our wedding celebration so memorable. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a truly special venue in New Orleans!

If you are thinking about getting married in New Orleans, RUN to Swoop Duggins! Our August wedding was truly everything I dreamed of and more. From the very beginning, Linda, Meghann, and their entire team made us feel like we were in the best hands. They were warm, accommodating, organized, and somehow made the whole experience feel effortless. Our family and friends are still talking about how beautiful the venue was, how good the drinks were, and how amazing the food was. The chef and her team absolutely did their thing! And I have to give a special shoutout to Thyme. She was by my side like an old friend, helping me get ready to walk down the aisle and making sure I had everything I needed in that moment. That kind of care meant so much to me. The team also worked so seamlessly with all of my vendors, which made the entire day flow beautifully. I never felt like I had to manage anything or worry about what was happening behind the scenes. They handled it. Swoop Duggins gave us a wedding experience that felt so special, so personal, and so authentically New Orleans. It was truly my perfect New Orleans wedding dream come to life. If you want a wedding your guests will still be talking about after it is over, this is the place. I would choose Swoop Duggins all over again without hesitation!

I hosted a corporate event for customer here during a large conference being held at the Convention Center. The venue is so incredibly unique and was perfect for 120 guests. The bar on both floors really helped with the flow of guest, as well. The passed appetizers and food stations were excellent. I highly recommend the house made focaccia and the everything deviled eggs. Our customers and colleagues are still raving about the event. Thanks to the incredible staff and Linda and Meghann for a seamless process in planning and execution. Highly recommend!

The Historic Swoop-Duggins was the perfect place for my husband and I to hold our wedding celebration! The house is beautiful all on its own and has a lot of interesting history, which was a major draw for us as we wanted to have a very New Orleans-style wedding. The proprietor/GM, Linda Novak, guided us through all the options and offered recommendations and helpful tips for vendors and second line bands. Chef Lisa took wonderful care in helping us create a delicious menu of Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya, blackened Swordfish, fingerling potatoes, house-made focaccia, chilled and grilled shrimp, and a seasonal vegetable salad. She was so attentive to ours and our guests' various dietary restrictions (we received compliments all night and all weekend long, even from locals!). The bar director, Taylor, curated fun and delicious cocktails and mocktails to bring the Nola spirit. Try the Baroness Spritz! Our special events coordinator Meghann and onsite venue coordinator Rashaad, helped us figure out every detail so that we could have a well thought-out and smooth evening curated to our vision. The night ran beautifully! Every person we spoke with had a favorite staff member who made them feel welcomed, at home, and taken care of. They were all wonderful! Special shoutout to Thyme for taking wonderful care of my husband and I all night long- making sure we got to eat the delicious food, had plenty of water and drinks to keep us going, and an overall warm-hearted delight (she was such a gem giving me beautiful words before I walked down the aisle)! My husband, myself, our family, and all of our friends who traveled from near and far, had a beautiful and unforgettable time!

Thanks to Meghann and the team at the Swoop-Duggins house for making my retirement party so special. The 2nd floor Parlor was the perfect venue for drinks and snacks and fun. Nothing like working with someone who handles EVERYTHING!

We had a party at the Historic Swoop Duggins house and everything was wonderful! Meaghann was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Chef Lisa created a wonderful menu full of fun goodies. The whole service team provided exceptional service and everyone was impressed with all aspects of the party.

Where do I even start?? Linda was amazing from day 1! Meghann, Logan, and the crew for the evening we booked the house was nothing but perfection! The house itself is breathtaking, the food was out of this world, and I kid you not, we're still talking about the food! The people who work there also made the evening beyond special! If you book, make sure to ask for Craig (the best brass band in the world!!) 1000% recommend!

If we could do it all over again, we would choose Historic Swoop-Duggins for our wedding every single time! From the very beginning, the entire team made the planning process incredibly easy. Linda was so accommodating, responsive, and genuinely wonderful to work with. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming (especially in 6 months 😅), but the team at Historic Swoop-Duggins made everything feel seamless. We also have to give a huge thank you to Rashaad and Meghann. They were absolutely phenomenal and played such a huge role in making our day run flawlessly. They were organized, attentive, calm, and always one step ahead. We felt completely taken care of from start to finish, which allowed us to actually relax and enjoy our wedding day. One thing that really stood out to us was the staff. Every single person working our wedding looked genuinely happy to be there. They were smiling, engaging with our guests, and contributed so much to the warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout the night. You could tell they truly cared about making the event special. The venue itself is unlike anything else in New Orleans. We loved that our guests could move throughout the historic home and courtyard rather than being confined to one ballroom. It created such a unique, intimate, and memorable experience, and the venue is absolutely stunning in every direction. The food was another highlight. We received countless compliments from our guests about how incredible everything tasted, and people are still talking about it. The drinks were equally impressive - beautifully made and absolutely delicious. We truly couldn't have asked for a better venue or team. If you're looking for a wedding venue with incredible character, outstanding food and drinks, and a staff that genuinely cares about making your day perfect, Historic Swoop-Duggins is it. We recommend them without hesitation!

We hosted our wedding welcome reception at Swoop-Duggins and it was an excellent choice We live in Los Angeles and were only able to make it to town a couple times during the planning process, but Linda made everything seamless. The venue itself was incredible and our out of town guests LOVED it. We wanted to share the quintessential New Orleans feeling that I grew up with and it was the perfect place, from the art deco meets southern gothic decor, to the fairytale courtyard and breezy patios, it felt like a something out of a movie. The space is already so stunning and detailed at every turn, there wasn’t really a need for decor. All we really had to do was pick out the menu and hire a band (Linda connected us with the Jazz Vipers who were incredible). We brought a few small arrangements for the tables and that was that. The venue is located about a block away from the Virgin Hotel, and within walking distance to many other great hotels (in a relatively safe area), making it a great choice if guest convenience is important to you. This was a perfect place for our Welcome Party, but had our wedding been smaller, it would have been the perfect location for a ceremony and reception as well. We had our wedding at Race and Religious the following day, but Swoop is just as charming and memorable, and I’m sure soon it will be just as impossible to book. Choose Swoop if you’re an out of towner or busy local who needs a venue that is totally seamless. Choose it if you want a venue that is conveniently located. But most importantly, book this venue if you want to blow your guests away with an event that embodies the romance, liveliness, and soul of the city.
