This place is so legit. I’ve worked in beauty for 12 years and the owners knowledge is beyond a basic Sephora trip! She has a huge lot of danessa myricks and lemondhead from the euphoria show! She also has Hollywood makeup that I’m definitely getting for my legs. The best part is it’s mixed with crystals and tarot as well

Melanie is amazing! I wear zero makeup because I don’t know how to use it. I bought her $99 mini makeup lesson and was amazed how good it looked! I bought everything she used and I was able to do it myself today. She is such an amazing artist and soooo nice too! The shop is adorable and only about a mile from my house. I 1000% recommend this shop and Melanie!!! A+++

AH-MAZING! I cannot recommend Melanie and her staff enough, they were able to help me last minute with finding quality makeup to cover tattoos for a filming production. They were extremely detailed in the products recommended, and I got so many compliments from film wardrobe on how well it covered up my sleeves. Thank you ladies so so much, I will definitely be back!

I had a one on one feature focus lesson with Melanie and learned a lot. She gave me lots of tips and tricks to play with my look and taught me what I needed to know to go home and continue working on technique. Very pleasant session and amazing quality products through the store.

10/10 experience at Makeup Altar! The atmosphere was very welcoming and chill. Melanie absolutely killed my makeup. I have pretty sensitive, inflamed skin with cystic acne, and somehow my makeup looked flawless without feeling heavy or uncomfortable at all. The other artists there were amazing too, and the whole experience honestly had such fun party vibes. Between the makeup, crystals, and champagne, the vibes were immaculate. Would 100% recommend if you’re looking to get your makeup done in Nashville!

I got my hair and makeup done at the Makeup Altar and would 100% recommend this experience to anybody! I felt so glam and beautiful, and had so much fun in the chair. The whole process was enjoyable—they frequently checked in to make sure I was loving the process, and did not make me feel bad when I wanted something adjusted! Overall it was a wonderful way way to spend an afternoon before a black tie wedding and my hair and makeup flawlessly lasted all night through sweat, wind, and dancing! 100/10 recommend Makeup Altar’s services.

My experience with Melanie was amazing! She instantly makes you comfortable and is so sweet. She is a total pro and I’m so grateful I got to have a one on one makeup lesson with her. She takes her time to show you how to apply all the products and she even let me video her going through all the steps so I could refer to it later. She introduced me to the best products that have literally changed my life! Her shop is so cool and such a vibe. I can’t wait to go back!
