Having a great time learning piano from Lafayette— as an adult learner, it’s great to be met where I’m at and to challenge myself ☺️ The owner has been accommodating, and lessons have always been on time for the three i’ve attended. would recommend!
I highly recommend Music Workshop. They provide excellent instruction and have always been extremely responsive and flexible on scheduling.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Chip. It's wonderful to hear that you've had a positive experience with our instruction and scheduling. Your recommendation means a lot to us and motivates our team to continue providing the best possible service.
Please, if you are searching for a music school that genuinely cares about its students, search no further. I found this school when my son expressed interest in piano lessons. He stopped the lessons to pursue other interests, but I have since taken over his lessons. I love my music teacher, Ray, and I feel like my voice has grown tremendously with working with her. The owner, Jim, is also kind, courteous, and understanding. Between the two of them I have accomplished things I didn’t even know possible and have faith that I can and will only do more. I can’t even put into words how much I appreciate the kindness and care shown to me at this institution, but if you are looking, and are on the fence, or weighing multiple options… I’d strongly encourage you to give them a call. I know you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for your heartfelt words. It’s wonderful to hear how much you’ve enjoyed your lessons with Ray and the positive impact they’ve had on your musical journey. Your appreciation for the supportive environment and the encouragement you’ve received from both Ray and Jim truly means a lot. We’re grateful for your recommendation and are delighted to be a part of your continued growth in music!
Loved my lessons. At 31 you too can start pursuing a passion! Thanks Jim and Ray for being such pleasant ppl to work with. My relationship with singing has changed drastically in six months. I really cant say good enough things about this little place. I will be back when circumstances are more in my favor!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Victoria. It’s wonderful to hear how much your singing journey has grown in just six months and that Jim and Ray made a positive impact along the way. Your enthusiasm and kind words mean a lot to everyone here at The Music Workshop, and we hope to see you back soon!
My son has been a long time client of Music Workshop from his long ago student days all the way to studio days. The instructors are all world class educators and performers in their own right. And also can't say enough good things about the owner Jim Jones who is hands on with parents to make sure we have a great experience at every visit!
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience and kind words about our instructors and Jim. It's truly rewarding to hear how The Music Workshop has been a part of your son's musical journey over the years, from student to studio. Your feedback means a great deal to us and motivates our team to continue providing a supportive and inspiring environment for all our students and their families.
The Music Workshop is a great space for musicians of all ages and skill levels. I personally took guitar lessons with Sean. He is very knowledgeable and patient. All of the staff I interacted with were very friendly as well. They were also willing to accommodate the times where I needed to reschedule my lessons. I highly recommend taking lessons here.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for recommending The Music Workshop. It's wonderful to hear that Sean's teaching style and the friendliness of our staff made your lessons enjoyable. We appreciate your feedback and are glad you felt supported during your time with us.
These guys rock. I'm relatively new to bass guitar, been taking lessons with Jimmy for a few months, he's a master of his craft and an excellent instructor. He listens to what students want to prioritize and tailors lesson plans accordingly. We've been working on a combination of technique and music theory. Both have been challenging for me in the past, but once I started taking lessons stuff has really been sinking in. My bandmates (check us out, we're Tapir View on Spotify) have noted how quickly I've been improving with lessons. The owner (Jim) is down to earth. He has an epic music degree (from Berkeley) but you wouldn't know it from how humble and chill he is. Also great that they're involved in helping Baltimore City Schools enrich their music programs. Highly recommend.
Thank you for your wonderful review, Brent! It's fantastic to hear about your positive experience with Jimmy and how his tailored approach is helping you progress on the bass guitar. We're thrilled that your bandmates are noticing your improvement, and we appreciate your shoutout to Tapir View. Jim and our entire team are passionate about music education and community involvement, so your kind words mean a lot to us. Your recommendation is greatly appreciated!
I love The Music Workshop! I started with piano teacher Sean on zoom during the pandemic and have continued ever since. Everyone is very helpful and very professional. I'm not a great musician but it's lots of fun and I'm learning a lot. I almost forgot to mention that I'm in my 70s and I do have some music experience but hadn't played piano since I was a kid
Thank you so much for your kind words, Marilyn! It's wonderful to hear that you've had such a positive experience with Sean and our team at The Music Workshop. We're thrilled that you're enjoying your musical journey and finding it both fun and educational. Your enthusiasm and dedication are truly inspiring to us all.
Really enjoyed my drum lessons with Chuck— I learned a lot and had so much fun. Highly recommended!

Our son has come really so far in a fairly short amount of time. Them studio is flexible with scheduling and super friendly and supportive. Teachers are great and work with all levels.
