Shanotte and her team made the entire process of looking for support so much easier! She innately seemed to know what we were looking for and found incredible candidates for our family, one who we hired and is still working with us. Across two nanny hires, we have now worked with four different nanny agencies. Our experience with The Nanny Smith was by far the worst. Shanotte is very nice and wants to be helpful. However, The Nanny Smith was unable to show us qualified candidates and often went >1 week in between meaningful updates. Other agencies we worked with were able to show a list of qualified candidates in 2-3 days. The Nanny Smith took 10 days to show us an initial list of candidates. Once we received the list of 3 candidates, we were disappointed to see that none of the candidates were good matches for our role. Our asks were reasonable (3+ years of experience nannying with small children, full-time). The candidate we were most excited about was hired before we had a chance to interview her.<br><br>After the first batch of candidates, we remained in contact with The Nanny Smith for 20 days without seeing another candidate. During this period, we followed up multiple times and expressed a willingness to expand hourly wage guidelines (which were already on market) in order to get a candidate in the door. The Nanny Smith did not send us any proactive updates during this period, and only replied when we followed up.<br><br>Our process spanned 30 days before we terminated the relationship. We were offered a partial refund, contingent on a legal agreement disallowing us from posting online reviews. We decided not to sign the agreement. This type of refund agreement is probably why there are not more negative reviews for this business.<br><br>We were told our area (middle of Morris County) made it particularly difficult to find candidates. However, the other agencies we worked with had no issues showing us 5+ candidates, within our wage parameters, who could work in Morris County, in a timely manner.<br><br>On the positive side, the candidate profiles were easy to read and had written referrals.<br><br>If you look at my review history, I have never left anything less than a 5 star review. It is out of character for me to leave a negative review about someone's business. However, I wish I had seen a review like this prior to engaging with The Nanny Smith, as it would have saved me hundreds of dollars and hours of wasted time.
