I enrolled my special needs non verbal child to this location. I was worried if we would even get past the first session but here we are 6 months later still enrolled! Kiaras teacher is Shirley, the amount of patience, kindness, determination she gives to kiara is enough to stay for as long as we can. Even the hard days where I have to apologize, Shirley is so understanding and does not give up on kiara. Kiara doesnt have much friends but I do believe Shirley is a friend and a safe place for her. So blessed to have Shirley and the piano place to give kids like kiara a chance at learning a universal language!
Ty Whitehouse is an amazing piano teacher, extremely encouraging and very kind. The one on one day time classes are perfect for our homeschool schedule.
We absolutely love The Piano Place in South Jordan! Huge shout out to Ty — hands down the best piano teacher ever. He's patient, encouraging, and has a real gift for making lessons fun while still pushing his students to make real progress every single week. You can tell he genuinely loves music and loves teaching, and it rubs off on his students. The studio itself is clean, friendly, and well run. If you're looking for piano lessons in South Jordan, ask for Ty. You won't be disappointed!
My children have really enjoyed learning piano, and they especially love working with Ty! He is an amazing teacher who is kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. We feel so lucky to have him as their piano teacher. Thank you, Ty, for making learning piano such a wonderful experience for them!
The customer service and the people on the management side is good - everyone is nice. But we took lessons here for a year and never felt that we were getting organized sequential lessons. I raised some of these concerns months ago but I don't think they can fix it because it's kind of the culture of the studio. The kids are asked A LOT about which songs they like to play or sing and it can feel a bit random. I attended lessons and never saw a teacher refer to a paper outlining what they did the week before. My daughter said, "my teacher doesn't know my name, he pronounces it wrong. It's totally random what we do everyday. I could work really hard practicing something and then he won't have me play it in my lesson." We did voice and guitar lessons.
If you have a child who really wants to sing popular songs or enjoys kind of messing around with an instrument, this is probably great. If you're looking for something structured for a great foundation I'd skip it.
I started taking my son to the piano place a few months ago and we have loved it! We absolutely love his teacher Ty. Ty has been an excellent teacher and we look forward to going every week. My son says, “ I love my teacher Ty because he is so kind and teaches me piano.”
It’s hard to find activities that my ADHD daughter will stick with but I think we finally did it! Her teacher Shirley is an amazing piano teacher. The staff are so friendly and helpful especially when answering all of my questions I had.
Edit: 10/2/26 Shirley has amazing patience! We have kept with it and my daughter is progressing so well. Highly recommend!!
