Came here to hopefully fix my wrist pain and left with more pain and torn skin. After I explained that I'm here for the wrist pain, the therapist didn't explain anything and just asked me to lie down and moved my arms around. Again no explaining, she grabbed a metal tool and just started scraping the crap outta my arm. Maybe 2-3 minutes later, she asked me if I felt better or just felt like being tortured (I presume it's a joke cuz she knows that this scraping thing is painful even without telling me) and I said yea it hurts, and she continued. Didn't ask me if I wanted a break, if I'm okay to continue or whatsoever. My pain tolerance is relatively high, but I would still like a warning before any health professional does something like that. After that torture, she asked me to do certain moves and the explanation comes afterwards that this is an exercise for the mobility for the wrist that I can do it at home. I think she should've done the explaining first before having me do the moves cuz I thought she was just doing some more test as this is my first session, and I was confused of what this was, what this exercise does or whatsoever. After that, she had me do certain positions and asked me if I felt stretched on my wrist, which I didn't, and she told me to lie down and went to grab some needles. Again, there's no explanation of her plans or what am I expecting. I know this place does acupuncture so I just presume this is what she was planning on doing and asked her is this what I'm having, and she said yea and again not explaining anything to me or asked if that's what I wanted, but she just said something like "You'll feel better after this". I've never tried acupuncture so I asked if this will be painful, she made it sounds like just it'll be jusr a bit pain and started the procedure. Putting the needles in was not the most painful, but after she put the needles in and she left me lying on the bed without telling me if I could move or how long am I lying there for. She left me for about 20 minutes and never came to check on me. In between the 20 minutes I took a peak of my arm couple time and I felt a sharp pain suddenly. Since she was nowhere to be seen, I just suffered through the pain and not move until she came back. There was even another therapist came to check on me, I asked him about the pain and if that's normal, and he explained a bit to me, which made me feel better. When my actual therapist came back, agaun didn't say a word and just started unplugging the needles. She then wrapped my arm up with some tapes and my session is finished. She told me that the tape should last for couple days, but the next day (today) I took it off since my arm was really sore, and that's when I found out that there was a huge bruise on my arm, and a portion of my skin was ripped off along with the tape. I'm very disappointed with this session, and I wish I never came here as I'm suffering more than before I came here.

I had a great first experience at Thrive! I was getting acupuncture from Megan it was my first time having that done and she was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough and understanding. Today was my very first visit to Thrive Proactive Health for my initial consultation. Right from the start, the experience was incredibly positive: the front desk team welcomed me so warmly and made me feel completely at ease.My interaction with the physical therapist who worked with me was also wonderful. He was extremely professional, attentive, and precise, which made a great impression.If I had to mention one small thing that caught me off guard—though it might be standard for this type of dynamic environment—it is the setup for the initial consultation. There isn't a private or intimate room for the first intake discussion; instead, the conversation takes place in an open area with others around, which can sometimes feel a bit loud or lacking in privacy.Other than that minor detail, everything else was excellent. It was a very promising start, and I highly recommend this center!

My experience with Barry was truly transformative. I’ve never worked with a professional who could address my complex, hypermobile body while also incorporating nervous system rewiring.
