Tomlin Academy

Do not be fooled by the outside looks of this “academy” it looks great on the outside but it truly is NOT even close on the inside . Truly I don’t even know where to start but DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THIS PLACE. My kids weren’t even there a month before they kicked my children out unlawfully. Me and my mom paid almost $500 just from enrollment to uniforms . They have NO control over the kids there, everyday they are screaming, climbing on things, hitting and overall is chaos. the teachers have terrible attitudes. They don’t acknowledge your child when they walk in in the morning , no smiles, no greetings just bad energy, my daughter would get sent to the 2 year old room as a punishment when everyone else went outside and this happened almost everyday she’s 5. There’s people that aren’t teachers that are around your children during nap time . I got a face time call one day bc my daughter was having a bad day and some lady I never met (she was not my daughters teacher or assistant) I didn’t even know her name, was holding my daughter down and stated “ I don’t care little girl” I went and picked my daughter up that very same day just because of how uncomfortable I was. My son would state very frequently that he would get pinched on his arm because his teacher was mad. Within the first two weeks I picked up my son and the first thing he said was “my teacher hit me” . Now Ms. Tomlin is very very unprofessional. I have a voice recording of her raising her voice at me and being disrespectful to the point my son started crying. She literally told me if my kids were having a bad morning they shouldn’t come to her establishment. She also never took accountability for the teachers sake for their lack of everything and tried to blame me and say I was deflecting. Like what director tells a parent they are self deflecting when expressing concerns and problems they have ? There’s no one at the front desk, there’s no support for the teachers there , no real true support for the children there and we never got our blankets back after they kicked my children out. This “daycare” needs to be shut down. The WORST place to take your children to . I am left scrabbling for child care after all the stress, and problems I have dealt with since literally day one from Tomlin academy . I have no time to find a back up . Not to mention . Communication is terrible if you want to know how your child is doing throughout the day…. Well you won’t know because they wont tell you . They did my children WRONG. They did me and my mom WRONG. This whole establishment left a bad taste in my mouth . If you care about your children find somewhere else close ! It is not a Christ centered AT ALL. And not worth your money you have to pay every week . Worst experience ever and left me more anxious to leave my son in another daycare 😓😓😓

This is an academy you need to bring your child to! The teachers are wonderful, very attentive and patient. My son loved his experience here. What I love most about this school is they keep the children engaged and active. The students here are learning! The leadership here is also superb! The CEO actually works here and is dedicated to the growth and progression of this academy! Best Academy in Kansas City hands down.

The Tomlin Academy has truly been a blessing for our family. My daughter is 8 years old and has been attending for about three years now, and she genuinely loves it there. She does not want to miss what they have planned. That alone says a lot to me. Ms. Tomlin and her staff are warm, patient, and consistent. They take the time to get to know the kids, so it never feels like just a drop-off. It feels like a real community, and I can tell my child feels safe, supported, and seen. On the way home, she is always telling me about her day, what she learned, and the little moments that made her excited. They also put so much effort into making the school feel welcoming. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with friendly faces and thoughtful seasonal decorations throughout the year, celebrating everything from Black History Month to fall, Easter, Christmas, and more. The kids stay engaged with activities and events that make it feel special. The Christmas party is still one of her favorite memories because Ms. Tomlin gifted her a free, brand new bike. She talks about it to this day, and I will never forget how happy and surprised she was. Moments like that really show the heart behind this place. I also appreciate the diversity in the classrooms. My daughter is learning and growing around kids from different backgrounds, and she has built real friendships here, even inviting some of them to her birthday party this year. Overall, I am beyond grateful for Ms. Tomlin and her amazing team. My daughter has learned so much and grown so much here, and I already cannot wait for my newborn to be old enough to attend too.

The best daycare in KC. My kids have been in attendance for several years. We are so happy to have met Ms Tomlin.

My son absolutely loves attending school here. He literally runs to his teacher every morning.

I love the details and energy that goes into educating and supporting the children at Tomlin Academy. Mrs. Tomlin uses creativity and great enthusiasm to insure her children have a strong foundation. I love how she puts the care in childcare. Keep up the good work. Our kids are depending on you.
