I have edited my review after another discussion with the owner. I did not have a good experience the first try with this company, but after talking things over with Mike, I believe it was mostly a case of wires getting crossed. I hope to give this company another try down the road. I’m glad that he took the time to at least talk to me and tell me the best way to go about getting help in the future, and I look forward to possibly working with Tommy D’s in the future. I also want to make clear that this review has nothing to do with the quality of work that their staff does. My only complaint was about the communication while attempting to schedule a job with them. I always like to support Monroe county businesses and hope to one day update this to a five star review when I require work from them again.

We had a garage door emergency trapping our cars in our garage at the beginning of important, busy weekend. Stephen came in on a Saturday morning and repaired our door. We would have been up a creek, but these great folks came to the rescue.

If I could give Tommy D’s and Kimberly Howell more than five stars, I would.

Two months after my new patio door was installed, an animal damaged a small section of the exterior of the door. Yesterday Evan from Tommy D's came and repaired the damage. He did a tremendous job and I can't even see where the damage was before. Thank you, Evan and Tommy D's!

I recently needed new springs on my garage door. I called around and got a local company other than Tommy Ds to come by and provide an estimate. They stated that I needed to replace both springs, and that Chinese springs installed were about $800, and USA made springs would run me about $1100. I knew our son recently replaced a single spring for $800 and it seemed in line, but I am too frugal to not call around a bit more.
I looked on Amazon and found springs from multiple countries of Manufacturing running about $100 to $150 a pair. This made me think I might be getting gouged.
I remembered a former neighbor whom I trust had one time told me that Tommy Ds was reputable and reasonable, so I called them.
They gave me a firm quote over the phone. It was $385 for both springs installed. No brainer. I asked for the service and Steve and Levi came promptly at 0830 the very next morning. They were awesome. Not only did they complete the work for the exact quote price, they replaced a broken hinge and installed handles that I had at home for no additional charge.
This was my first purchase from Tommy Ds, but can promise that they will get my business from now on. I rarely give glowing reviews such as this, but please give them a try, they are local, reasonable, and honest.
