We are relatively new to the USA. Last summer, after moving to Chicago, my We are relatively new to the USA. Last summer, after moving to Chicago, my wife and I decided to improve our English skills. My wife found an ad on the Internet for summer courses, which were organized by Trellus. To enroll, we had to take placement tests to determine our level. These were the first tests we took in the U.S. We were a bit nervous, but the staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. Based on the results of a computer test, reading, and writing exercises, we were placed in the highest-level classes offered by Trellus. That’s the only reason why, after passing the final test, we continued studying at a local college in the fall instead of staying with Trellus.

Now, with experience from other courses, I can say that the quality of teaching at Trellus was one of the best, and the teachers' motivation to help students was truly remarkable. The language program was designed to meet the practical needs of people who had recently arrived in the U.S. The practical tasks were based on real-life situations that people often face. You were constantly engaged in the learning process, and every day provided useful knowledge. Besides the main course, we had the chance to attend speaking and writing clubs. There was even an English language Olympiad, which was organized creatively and made the experience enjoyable. Afterwards, the organizers and participants treated each other to dishes from their national cuisines.

We remember our teachers at Trellus warmly and with gratitude. I enrolled in the Trellus Adult Learning Center program, and from the start, my experience has been incredibly frustrating. When I first applied, the caseworker who was supposed to guide me through the enrollment process failed to properly communicate whether I had been accepted into the program. I had no clear confirmation of my enrollment and was left in limbo, unsure of where I stood. When I approached the manager about the caseworker's lack of communication, he completely dismissed my concerns, defending the caseworker and stating that the office was simply “busy.”

Despite this, the manager reassured me by assigning me to a new caseworker and assured me that I was "in good hands." However, this caseworker's behavior was even more troubling. On multiple occasions, they failed to place basic toiletries orders for weeks, and when they finally did, I noticed they would purposely leave items off the list. I initially thought it was a mistake, but it became clear that something was off when I placed an order in the office, right in front of them, to ensure the items were included. Right before placing the order, the caseworker intentionally removed an item from the list. It felt passive-aggressive, immature, and unprofessional.

Two days after this incident, the caseworker texted me to inform me that I was dropped from the program. They did not have the professionalism to call or provide any explanation. When I asked who made the decision and requested their contact information to discuss the matter, the caseworker never responded. I also emailed the manager, but they never responded either.

This entire experience has been incredibly upsetting. I was treated disrespectfully and unprofessionally by multiple individuals, and despite my attempts to resolve the situation, my concerns were consistently ignored. The lack of communication, accountability, and transparency throughout this process has left me deeply disappointed. I urge anyone considering this program to proceed with caution.

They were nice over there and if you are from syria, you will be happy and they help people a lot, and they speak Arabic.

Very great and Wonderful experience. The workers, teachers all nice

،👍👍👍👍👍

I highly recommend Trellus to any English learners: the teachers are supportive, the courses are informative, and the environment is friendly. I have stayed there for one year, learning ESL Level 2 with Kate, Level 3 with Victoria, Level 4 with Allie, and Level 5 with Mariya. Moreover, getting one-on-one tutoring is accessible at Trellus, I have got help from Gavin and Kat Woo. What’s special, I also took IT classes with Joseph, it is suitable for beginners in programming and data analysis. Now I can handle more and more real-life English, which helps me integrate into the English-speaking community. I sincerely appreciate everything I came across at Trellus, it was a memorable journey.
