VEG ER for Pets

Took my 6yr cat Izzy here after becoming concerned when she started hiding and not acting like her usual self. I drove to VEG ER of Chapel Hill late at night and they were so pleasant to deal with. They were thorough in examining my cat and explaining what was wrong (it appears she has a UTI and an allergic skin issue). They checked her out, gave her meds and I'm happy to report I'm seeing positive results right now! Also, they made sure my sis and I were comfortable by offering snacks or drinks while we waited. We did have a little bit of a wait only because they had 2 doggies that were in dire straits (sadly, one didn't make it). Anyways, the folks here at VEG ER of Chapel Hill are awesome and made the whole experience pleasant. Also, the cost wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. And before paying they will show you a breakdown of fees but you will have to pay upfront for treatment to be given. (Understandable) But the cost wasn't too bad IMO. Anyways, I highly recommend them and thank them again for all they did for my baby girl Izzy!

Brought our cat here after he got bit by something and had a swollen face. The vet and vet techs were great and kind and the facility itself is very nice and comfortable!

Amazing team of intelligent and empathetic people. Dr.Alana Ejezie was just as great with me as she was with our dog. Very competent, kind and helpful staff. I’d drive from Raleigh to have them help!

VEG ER in Chapel Hill is an outstanding facility staffed by people who truly care about animals. From the moment you step in the doors you feel like they have everything under control. I drove an hour to get to the hospital and my dog’s condition was critical. Had the team not been able to immediately stabilize her and get her into surgery she would have died. Not only did she survive, but she was home with me in less than 48hrs. The team was communicative, caring, warm and very skilled. They made me feel very welcome no matter when or for how long I stayed with my dog. While I was there I saw them work on other dogs, cats and even a rabbit. The same care and concern was put into those animals as they were put into my dog. I cannot recommend or praise the team at VEG ER in Chapel Hill highly enough.

I’ve had two very scary emergency situations with my dog. The first I took him to VEG Cary, the second I brought him to the Chapel Hill location. Both locations were wonderful. Any time I have any worry about my dog’s wellbeing that needs immediate attention, I know exactly where I’m bringing him. VEG staff are extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and act quickly based on each animals needs. Being able to stay with my pup the entire time made a world of difference. And the open concept treatment floor meant that staff had eyes on my dog at all times.

Dr. Muse and the dedicated team at VEG Chapel Hill were so professional and compassionate in caring for my sweet Alfie as we had to make the most difficult, heartbreaking decision for her. Life will never be the same without her. 💔

We were extremely pleased with the service we received, the way the staff interacted with each other and other patients / family in the area and overall, they were very well organized. Dr Knutzen and her staff did a great job communicating, showing empathy and care for your fur baby and doing things in a timely manner. You could tell the entire staff cared deeply for the patients and ensuring a good experience for not such great circumstances.

I am not one to leave reviews but I have had to bring my pup to VEG a couple times. I’ll never say it’s a good experience to bring your pet to the ER, but my experience with the staff and the facility have both been exceptional. The vets, techs and triage personnel are all so kind, great with people and pets, and really just are great at their job. The facility is pristinely clean and stocked with comfort items like snacks, coffee, towels and couches. If your pet has an emergency, this is definitely the place to take them.

They were a godsend for us. They took great care of our baby.
