Enjoying coffee in our beautiful new backyard this morning reminded us how grateful we are to Joel and Wells Pools! From the beginning, Joel took the time to listen and understand our vision. We wanted more than a pool — we dreamed of having an outdoor living space, but we were starting from scratch and overwhelmed and nervous.
We decided to go with a design-build and Joel nailed it on the first design. He got our vision. His attention to detail and calm demeanor made the entire process feel like we were in good hands. He coordinated all the different contractors and installation crews, which was a huge relief. The vendors he worked with were professional and did a great job. Communication was always easy, and Joel was quick to return calls or texts. He was also patient and reassuring when I second-guessed design choices at the last minute.
Joel and his team brought our dreams to life better than we ever imagined. We are so happy with our new backyard and would recommend Joel and Wells Pools without hesitation!

We love our new Wells Pool! Over the course of the project the communication was great and construction was on schedule. The crews were knowledgeable, respectful, and cleaned up afterwards. The incredible design was completely customized to fit our space perfectly and the finished result looked just like the rendering. The Wells team were experts in helping us with the small details that made our pool truly exceptional and not just cookie cutter. Joel Wells designed and installed our pool nearly a decade ago. After countless backyard swim parties and barbecues for kids who are now nearly grown, we still love our pool as much as the first day we swam in it. In addition to the beauty it adds to our yard and the cooling plunges we get on hot Sacramento days, Wells has stood by their product when we needed a small repair and even helped us find a new pool servicer when we needed one. This is a reputable pool builder whom our family would definitely trust again.

We just had a pool installed by Wells Pools and we are in love and have been enjoying daily all summer!! We worked with Andrew, and he was wonderful to work with and so friendly and helpful. He designed our pool as well as communicated with us daily throughout the whole process. All of the contractors were respectful and kind, and worked hard to give us the perfect pool for us. We highly recommend Andrew and Wells Pools if you are in need of a pool company. They are honest, trustworthy, and give you so much more than a basic, cookie cutter pool! I also love that they use salt water!

We had a great experience with Wells Pools from start to finish. The process moved quickly, and they immediately handled the permitting process for our gas heater and pool/spa setup, which was especially important because our situation was being grandfathered in. Their communication throughout the project was excellent.
The quality of work is superb, with great attention to detail at every stage. Like any large project, we ran into a couple of issues along the way, but Joel, the owner, resolved everything quickly and professionally. With over 40 years in the pool building business, it’s clear he genuinely cares about his clients and stands behind his work and customer satisfaction.
Their follow-up on even minor issues was clear, concise, and prompt. Since all pool builders rely on subcontractors, responsiveness after installation is important, and Wells Pools was impeccable in that regard.
We also appreciated the broad tile selection available, along with the knowledgeable experts at the tile manufacturer who helped guide the design choices.
Our backyard has a very awkward shape, but Andrew designed a pool layout that not only fit the space perfectly, but also added dimension and improved the overall look of the yard.
We also chose to use their recommended turf expert, which made the process much easier by creating a true one-stop-shop experience.
We’ve posted a few photos already and will share more once the landscaping and turf are complete. We highly recommend Wells Pools to anyone looking for quality workmanship, strong communication, and a team that truly cares about the final result.

We were exceptionally pleased with the professionalism of each person who worked on our project and give our highest recommendations to Wells Pools. We had an extremely challenging situation in the hills in Vacaville. We were taking out an existing pool from the 1980s and transforming the backyard into an adult oasis. The elevation changes between the house and the retaining wall presented unique challenges. From the first day that Joel met with us, we could see that he was intrigued about the job. He did an exceptional job designing the pool, listening to our inputs and dreams, and modifying plans until we had a design that fit everything we wanted. Working with Wells Pools was a pleasant experience from the first day until the pool was turned over to us. Each team from excavation led by Miguel, to plumbing and electrical led by Steffen, to Tommy the tile savant, Mike the Project Manager and Joel, the designer, as well as the Decking Team, Gunite and pebble crew were highly skilled professionals, easy to work with and clearly took pride in their work. They kept the construction site as clean as possible, don’t get me wrong, when you tear out and build a pool, your yard is going to look like a war zone for several months. But each team did mini cleanups each day, and there were a couple days that a cleanup crew just came in and did a major overhaul of things like picking up wood, pvc and extra concrete laying around. I never saw anything like discarded water bottles or cigarette butts anywhere. We gained much needed usable patio space, where one there were steps everywhere, garden planters to soften the concrete near the house, a hot tub that we use all the time and the most incredible view of water to hills. Now we not only have the best view in our neighborhood, we also have the best pool.
