Ryan is an amazing trainer- truly caring and supportive to reach your goals. I recommend her if you have a lease or own a horse. It was quite difficult for me to find a lesson horse who could take me to the next level, though, and I didn’t have the capacity or full trust to go that direction. Silvia - the owner - was always nice and professional. I learned a lot and I enjoyed my time here, that is when I was set up for success. It just wasn’t consistent. I did feel safe and supported training with Ryan. The facility is so nice and all the workers were genuinely sweet. I love practicing my Spanish. It might be your space but if you’re looking to jump, you’d need your own horse.

After 15 wonderful years(thanks to the original, wonderful owner who sold the business to the current owner)of boarding my beloved horse at this facility, our final WF experience compels me to share with horse owners: yes, WF current owners do perhaps love the 'equestrian lifestyle'... but she does NOT have the wellbeing of horses as her priority. On a Friday in Dec of 2020, my 20yr old horse was very ill. I called a vet to examine him at WF and she solemnly explained that i might have to consider the need to humanely euthanize him the next day if his condition worsened. WF owner, Silvia, was present for this conversation. As the vet was packing up, Silvia asked me to please step into her office where she immediately and adamantly told me that I absolutely COULD NOT have my horse euthanized on WF property - that she was having a barn party on Saturday, with a shopping event, and she could not have a horse being put down during this. She kept saying that she was 'trying to run a business.' Mind you, the property IS 51 acres, and even considering the logistics for removal of his remains, a private area could absolutely have been arranged and the need would have been respected by any true horse lover. Faced with the horror of this situation i began scrambling to make arrangements. I called friends, acquaintances, vets, an animal cemetery. No one could believe that she'd asked this. I've never heard of anyone who understands or cares about horses - amazing, highly sensitive beings - ever do anything like this. Running a quality boarding facility means caring for horses at all stages of their lives, perhaps especially when they are no longer in their prime. I was not a big spender on training/extras at WF, but my account was absolutely current, including her demand for all charges due thru THAT day before she would trailer him to A&M for medical care. I paid her in full and he was trailered. I have no balance remaining at WF. I stayed entirely on track with the payment plan that she and I agreed upon, with no payments missed. I told her that day that she would be paid in full, as she repeatedly asked while I was trying to figure out how to handle the possible death of my horse. The money issue, and 'kindness' she showed in no way makes up for this final nightmare, which she will not deny - and has never apologized for - because it is the truth. And she did NOT ask me for ONE day. I asked HER if Sunday would be possible, even though it would've meant prolonging his suffering, which I could not imagine. She said NO. Nor did she ask me multiple times to take my horse to the vet. I always have, and always will, provide my horse with medical care. I wanted to bring a vet of MY choice to the barn to examine him. I did NOT want to use the vet that she pushes (owned by corporate Pathway Vets, who just happens to 'sponsor' WF) I tried to stick with WF through the ownership change. I wanted it to be a successful transition. But with the revolving door of trainers and barn employees since Silvia took over - which speaks for itself - there has always been a sense of unease. WF is great if you want to trailer in for a clinic, but if you're looking for a caring, long-term home for your equine companion where both of you can learn and grow, remember that Silvia canNOT have her party interrupted by something as inconvenient as a humane end to your horse's life - something every horse should be allowed to experience as peacefully, comfortably and respectfully as possible. To me that is huge, and outweighs most any other factor. The original owner had a deep, true passion for horses and horsemanship. The current owner has a deep passion for profit and fancy equestrian outfits. There is a big difference, and it shows. Watch your bill, every month. (*postscript* 2026: Shadow continues to thrive!, and this time of year I'm especially thankful I no longer board at WF) I am happy to discuss my time at WF with anyone.

I am very sorry you are upset. I would like to remind you of all the kindness, patience and courtesies I extended to you because I care for your horse. You were here for FOUR years under the new ownership so something must have gone well during that time or you wouldn't have stayed that long, right? While I understand you are upset, let me remind you of some things -- You didn't pay board for over 6 months and I fed and cared for your horse. None of those courtesies are mentioned above, nor how happy your horse was here. Just rantings and ravings because boundaries were established. I asked for ONE day until the clinic and barn party were over and until we could figure something out. Notice the word 'we'. I always tried to work with you...as a matter of fact you still have a balance on the account and I let you leave because I understood the financial situation you are in. I medicated your horse time and time again, called you repeatedly and asked you to take him to the vet. He has not been feeling well for a while. I hope you find peace, because this isn't the person I used to know... it was a pleasure taking care of your horse all this time. I made the decision to go above and beyond for him and for YOU. This review will not prevent me from extending kindness and courtesies to others in the future. Best of luck in all your future endeavors. ** Edit: 5/4/2022: Thank you so much for paying the balance on the account :)

White Fences is genuinely such an incredible facility run by some incredible people. I’ve been riding here for 3 years and have loved every minute! The facility stays clean and somehow doesn’t stink (Sylvia, how do you do it???) Every stable hand is so very sweet and they truly love your horses like they’re their own. Sylvia makes sure everyone is taken care of and makes you feel like a part of the family. I’ve never gotten a mean girl or ‘hoity toity’ vibe no matter how long I’ve been here. Emily, the head of the lesson program, makes everything run so smoothly with no worries for any clients. She is so very kind and makes sure every rider knows they’re doing their best. I love her analogies, as well, they add personality into what can sometimes be a boring routine. Ryan, my trainer is one of the sweetest and most understanding people I have ever met. Things go wrong? She’s there to pick you back up and put you together like Humpty Dumpty. She makes sure you know you’re doing great even when you feel like a terrible rider! Andrea, the head trainer and most recent addition to the White Fences team has so much knowledge and insight even for people who are not her clients. Despite her impressive background, she has never made anyone feel less for how they ride or their abilities. And the lesson horses for those who don’t have their own horse. They’re all very well trained with a level headed attitude. There’s a horse (or pony) for every riding level and every type of person.

I’m an adult rider, and although I first started riding as a kid, I came back to horses exactly one year ago here at White Fences. Looking back at where I started and where I am today, I couldn’t be happier with that decision. Lesson after lesson, my teacher Ryan has helped me become a better, more confident, and more knowledgeable rider. I can genuinely feel the progress, but what makes White Fence special goes far beyond the riding itself. There’s a wonderful sense of community at the barn. Everyone is welcoming, supportive, and friendly, and after a year it truly feels like being part of a family. The entire facility is always incredibly clean, organized, and well cared for, and you can tell how much attention and love goes into the horses and the barn every single day. I came here a year ago wanting to get back in the saddle. I ended up finding a place I genuinely look forward to coming to every week. Couldn’t recommend White Fences enough. ❤️🐴

Happy one-year anniversary at White Fences! Reading this truly made our whole team smile. Watching your confidence, skill, and partnership grow under Ryan’s instruction over the last year has been an absolute joy. Returning to riding as an adult takes commitment, and we are so honored you chose to spend that journey with us. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our barn family, we can’t wait to see what your next year in the saddle brings! Rudy supports this message :) 🐴❤️

After just five months in White Fences' lesson program, the progress I've made in my dressage riding has been truly remarkable! The entire training staff is exceptionally talented, and working with Ryan in particular has done wonders for my confidence in the saddle. I genuinely look forward to every single lesson. The facilities are absolutely perfect - a covered dressage arena, a spacious outdoor arena complete with jumps, and a covered round pen. The tack stalls are impeccably maintained, a true reflection of the respectful and conscientious community of riders here who take great pride in keeping everything spotless and organized. Beyond the outstanding facilities and instruction, the property itself is breathtakingly beautiful — the kind of place that makes you never want to leave. It has quickly become my home away from home, and boarding my own horse here one day is absolutely a goal I'm working toward. If you're looking for a facility that checks every single box, White Fences is it!

Thank you for noticing the care that goes into keeping our arenas and tack stalls spotless, our community truly makes this place what it is. We love that White Fences has become your home away from home, and we are counting down the day we get to welcome your future horse into the barn! 🐴✨

We had such a great experience at White Fences Equestrian! My daughter is 7 and had no prior riding experience, and Emily was so patient and kind with her. She made her feel comfortable right away, and my daughter left so excited to go back. The facility is beautiful, clean, and very well run, and scheduling online was easy. As a parent, I really appreciated how welcoming and organized everything was. We’re so happy we found White Fences Equestrian!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review! We are so happy your daughter's first riding experience was such a positive one. Emily has a wonderful way of helping new riders feel confident and excited, and we're thrilled she made your daughter feel comfortable from the very first lesson. We also truly appreciate your kind words about our facility and team. Creating a welcoming, organized, and safe environment for riders and horses is something we work hard to provide every day. We can't wait to watch your daughter's confidence and love of horses continue to grow. We'll see you both at the barn soon!

White Fences is what I will miss most about living in Austin, Texas the past 2 years. My experience with Emily my trainer was amazing. I feel that I learned a lot more at White Fences through Emily's guidance than I did in my prior barn in Virginia in my 2 years and a half riding there. Since I moved to Texas from the east coast not knowing anyone, I also think Emily became my closest friend in ATX. It is really beneficial for the trainers at White Fences to be solely focused on horse related things at least visibly when compared to my old barn in which the head trainer was also responsible for a lot of other barn related stuff. I had many highs and lows in my 2 years in Austin but the one constant high was being able to come to White Fences. I not only learned a lot about riding English Dressage and the proper things but I also got really close to the different school horses and their personalities. I liked White Fences so much that my weekend afternoons were always spent there. I actually remained in Austin 6 months longer than I would have otherwise and choose to delay my move to the east coast because of how much I enjoyed my time at White Fences. If I ever make the move back to ATX, White Fences will be the first place I reach out to in order to begin my classes immediately after moving back. I cried a lot driving back home after the farewell gathering that was held for me and on my last day riding at White Fences.

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. ❤️ It was a privilege to be part of your journey during your time in Austin. Emily is an exceptional trainer, and we're so happy to hear how much you grew as a rider and how welcomed you felt at White Fences. Creating a place where riders can learn, build confidence, and feel at home is exactly what we strive for. We miss having you around the barn and are so grateful you chose to spend so much of your time with us. Whenever life brings you back to Austin, you'll always have a home at White Fences. We can't wait to welcome you back into the saddle! Frank, Beluga and Mickey say "Hi"

Outstanding facility with a welcoming atmosphere for both kids and adults alike. The covered dressage arena and round pen are excellent and it is clear the horses are well cared for. The training staff is knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping new and experienced riders develop their skills. Highly recommend!

White Fences is truly my 'happy place'! I began Dressage in my mid-50s and have trained with Emily for three years and my experience is always amazing. My horse, Fritz, was a lesson horse and he's my hero, always giving me 100%. My 11 y.o. granddaughter is now also in training with Emily and we're looking forward to her first show (and our first show together) in September. The property is impeccably maintained, and everyone is welcome regardless of age, body type, discipline, or skill level. I've never been happier than I am at White Fences.

Thank you so much for this beautiful review! Hearing that White Fences is your "happy place" means everything to us. You and the wonderful Fritz are such an inspiration, it is never too late to fall in love with dressage, and watching your journey with Emily over the last three years has been pure joy. We are absolutely thrilled to have your granddaughter training with Emily too! Having multiple generations of a family riding together here is the ultimate compliment to the community you have helped us built. We believe whole-heartedly that horses are for everyone, regardless of age or skill level. We are already counting down the days to September and will be cheering the loudest for your first show together! 📣❤️🐴
