I took my dogs to them for years without incident. They took great care of them. We moved away, and just recently moved back. I didn’t have a second thought about bringing my babies back to them. Oh, how I was mistaken.
I had been monitoring my 10 year old mini dachshund for a couple of days for what I thought was constipation. Did all the at home tricks with no success. It wasn’t until this past Wednesday evening (after business hours of course) that I noticed some rather foul discharge coming from her lady bits. I googled her symptoms and it suggested pyometra (infection in the uterus). I immediately tried to phone Woodsprings because it states on their website and on google that they have after hours emergency care. I never got an answer, just a digital recording that said “pease enter your passcode.” I then located another after hours emergency vet who actually answered. I explained the symptoms and he agreed that it was most likely open pyometra (meaning it is draining). He said it was urgent, but she could be seen by her regular vet first thing in the morning since it was draining.
Overnight, she became more lethargic, wouldn’t eat and would barely take water.
The next morning, I took her in to Woodsprings and explained the situation. They took her from my arms and said they would call later when she was ready. I got the call around 2 pm and went back to check on my baby. They never said anything over the phone about what was going on, but I figured that I would speak with the vet once I got there. I did not see the vet, nor did I speak with a vet tech. I only spoke with the ladies at the desk, whom I assume are not vet techs. She handed me two prescription bottles and said that will be $337.92. I said “what’s wrong with my dog? She literally just read off the screen “severe UTI. Schedule follow up for 1 week. I paid, and the moment I got the receipt I noticed something. There were charges for x-rays, urinalysis, biohazard disposal, and for the 2 prescriptions, but nothing about them treating her. No fluids, no IV antibiotics, nothing. I asked if they had given her either one of the medications they had prescribed and they said no. They brought out my baby, she looked a little more bright so I just kind of thought to myself, ok, this is just how it goes. Get her home, comfortable, medicated and we will just give the meds time to work. As a former ICU Nurse, I should have known better, but having never dealt with a severely sick dog before, I didn’t listen to myself.
We got her home, comfortable, medicated her and got some water down her, but she still wouldn’t eat. Not even peanut butter, which was usually irresistible. She seemed more responsive, just still very weak, which was understandable. I went to work Friday thinking we just have to give the medications time to work. I got home that night after work and something told me things were different, but again, I thought just give the antibiotics more time. If she isn’t better by Monday, take her back to the vet. Little did I know that thinking was going to be the worst decision ever.
I woke up this morning (Saturday) and found her visibly in distress. I knew it was too late, so I just held her in my arms, and she passed 5 minutes later.
Looking back, I can see where I failed her, but I also see where Woodsprings Animal Hospital failed her. I’m not sure they did a proper exam on her, because if they had noticed the pronounced lethargy that prevented her from standing on all 4 feet, let alone walking, they should have realized that this dog was severely ill and needed more care than just home care and pills that she could barely swallow. I’m still convinced that it was pyometra and not a UTI. I feel like since we were a walk in…mind you, an urgent walk in, we were treated with sub-par care.
I still have another fur baby at home, and as long as there is breath in my body, she will never be treated by these poor excuses for veterinary medicine ever again! Think twice before trusting them with your precious pets health. It may cost your pet everything!

I do not recommend this place based on my experience.
I brought my cat here in early December 2025. When I arrived, I was told that the vet, Mark, was sick and someone else would be looking at my cat. I didn’t think anything of it because I trusted that she was still in the hands of professionals.
A young woman who appeared to be an assistant or someone in training took my cat to the back. About 20 minutes later, she told me that the veterinarian had removed a few lumps from my cat and that they recommended leaving them alone. I was confused because I had never been asked for permission to remove the lumps, whether I wanted them tested, or even informed that they were going to be removed.
My cat was also given a long-acting, non-reversible steroid injection without anyone explaining it to me beforehand or discussing potential side effects. I never met or spoke with the veterinarian who examined my cat. No one explained what I should watch for afterward like the side effects.
My cat seemed groggy and unwell over the next few days and eventually stopped eating. When I brought her back, I was told she had an upper respiratory infection. I later took her to another veterinarian, who performed additional testing and found fluid around her lungs. I was told she did not have an upper respiratory infection.
Sadly, my cat’s condition continued to deteriorate, and I ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to put her down.
I understand that veterinary medicine can be complicated and that diagnoses can change. I am not claiming this clinic caused my cat’s decline. My concern is the lack of communication and informed consent throughout my experience. I should have been told what was being done to my cat, what medication she was receiving beforehand, the potential side effects, and what warning signs to look for.
Losing my cat was devastating, and I deeply regret that I did not receive the communication and information I expected when I trusted this clinic with her care. Based on my experience, I would choose a different veterinarian.

My cat was seen here three times in 2026. At the last two visits, I never saw or spoke to a veterinarian. After his dental surgery under anesthesia, all communication happened through support staff. At the May visit, a receptionist — not a vet or licensed tech — told me at pickup that my cat had gum disease and stomatitis and had already been given two injections I was never asked to approve, totaling $71.50 charged to my account (for a total bill that visit of $324.23). No treatment plan was offered beyond "come back in two weeks if he's not better." No written diagnosis. No educational materials for a condition I had to go home and research in tears.
I requested his complete records in writing on May 26 and followed up repeatedly. As of his appointment with a new vet on June 11 — more than two weeks later — neither I nor the new clinic had received the clinical notes, despite the clinic's written offer to forward records anywhere I chose. The new vet examined him, reached a different diagnosis with a good prognosis, and treated him with a $44 antibiotic. I am filing a complaint with the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Examining Board. Pet owners deserve to hear diagnoses from a veterinarian, to consent before treatment is given, and to receive their pet's records when they ask.

When we lived in Jonesboro, the team at Woodsprings Clinic took great care of our dog, Poppy. Poppy went through a spade procedure, and had to have surgery on her knee, which was a long process that involved several visits and checkups. Each time we had an appointment, Poppy was always excited to see the team at this clinic. I could feel the love and kindness the team showed Poppy each time we were there. Poppy’s knee has fully healed since then, and I can’t imagine a better experience than what we went through with each visit at Woodsprings Clinic! If you’re looking for a vet within the Jonesboro area, I highly recommend this place!!!
