World Gemological Services

We were referred to WGS by a jeweler in the LA jewelry district to have a pair of earrings appraised. There we were introduced to Michael Cortez and his assistant Sam, both of whom are kind of wonderful. Michael is a highly skilled and incredibly knowledgeable GIA Graduate Gemologist and Jewelry Appraiser. We were definitely in the right place. Not only did Michael appraise my earings, he schooled us on all manner of stones. It was absolutely fascinating! But I digress. The appraisal process was so easy and so reasonable and so much fun. There are many, many appraisers out there, But if you want the real, honest and straightforward deal, for absolute sure, go here. You will never be disappointed.

My experience with World Gemological Services was unconventional, as I did not visit to appraise a gem or piece of jewelry. My seven-year-old son has developed a strong interest in rocks and gems and has been reading extensively about them. Knowing that this is not typically what WGS offers as a service, I called simply to see if there might be someone willing to answer a few of his questions.<br>I had the pleasure of speaking with Chau Ngo, who graciously offered to spend time meeting with my son and me. She dedicated over 45 minutes reviewing his rock and gem collection, patiently answering his questions, teaching him new concepts, and further nurturing his curiosity and enthusiasm. Her depth of knowledge was evident, and her kindness made a lasting impression.<br>In business, character matters greatly. Ms. Chau was under no obligation to offer her time, yet she did so generously. This is exactly the kind of business I would gladly endorse and choose to work with when the time comes.

Needed to have my Rolex watch appraised for my insurance company. Came in today for my scheduled appointment and they were extremely professional, nice, courteous and the office was very clean. They are very knowledgeable on Rolex watches and I’ll definitely go back to them!
