We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Mitch, Michael, and the incredible experience we had with the Xcaliber Dog Training three-week board and train program! We rescued our Cane Corso, Maverick, off the streets about a month and a half before enrolling him in training. Despite his intimidating size and appearance, Maverick is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog. However, with a breed as large, strong, and naturally protective as his, we knew that establishing a solid foundation of obedience and communication was essential. Finding trainers who were knowledgeable, confident, and comfortable working with a dog of his size and strength, while also treating him with the kindness, patience, and compassion he deserves, was especially important to us. Mitch and Michael exceeded every expectation! We had several specific behaviors and concerns we wanted to address, and they went above and beyond in working through every one of them. Throughout the entire three weeks, they kept us updated with regular videos showing Maverick's progress, explaining what they were working on, and demonstrating his new skills. Their communication was fantastic, and it was so reassuring to see how much he was learning along the way. We also had an in-person training session at the two-week mark to practice his on-leash obedience, followed by a thorough final training session at our home when Maverick was returned to us. They made sure we understood how to communicate with him, use his training tools properly, and continue reinforcing everything he'd learned. But what truly sets Mitch and Michael apart is how genuinely kindhearted and loving they are toward the dogs in their care. It's so apparent that they love what they do and truly care about each dog as an individual. Mitch has built something truly special with this business, and it's clear that he and Michael share the same passion for exceptional training and compassionate care. Leaving your dog somewhere for three straight weeks isn't easy, especially one you've only recently rescued, but they made us feel like Maverick was staying with family. Knowing he was being loved and cared for just as much as he was being trained meant the world to us. The transformation in Maverick's obedience and responsiveness has been incredible, and we couldn't be happier with the results! We're so grateful for the time, patience, knowledge, and genuine care Mitch and Michael poured into him. They gave Maverick an amazing foundation and gave us the confidence and tools to continue building on it at home. It's an investment, but seeing the progress Maverick has made and knowing the care he received, we can confidently say it was worth every penny! We would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional training from people who truly love and care about the dogs they work with. If you’re considering professional training for your dog, Xcaliber Dog Training is the go-to! My husband and I welcomed our baby in July and our Australian Shepherd was having a hard time adjusting. He’s a high energy dog who has a hard time managing his big feelings and who has no ‘off switch’, all gas no breaks. He was never mean or aggressive but just rude and overbearing when it came to invading baby’s personal space, which was a big safety concern for us. With a newborn we just didn’t have the time to teach him new expectations or the correct way to manage his feelings or frankly even where to start. The team at Xcaliber took him in for their three week training course and laid down the foundation for him and gave us the tools to help guide him on what we now expect from him. He’s such a good dog and you can see how he wants to do the right thing but just didn’t know how. Micheal took the lead in Moose’s training and he was so communicative on his progress and patient in our lessons with all the questions we had. Of course, most of the training lies with my husband and I to maintain the expectations and remind him that his old habits are no longer acceptable. I can’t recommend XCaliber Dog Training enough! I brought our dog, Dallas, to them when she was just a 6-month-old puppy, and the difference they made in her has been incredible. Dallas came to them needing help with basic obedience, confidence, and even things that seem simple—like walking down stairs. Michael and Mitchell were patient, knowledgeable, and clearly understood how to work with her personality. Since training, she follows commands so much better, is noticeably more confident, and can finally walk down stairs without being scared or hesitant! What I appreciated most was that they didn’t just teach Dallas commands—they helped her become a more confident, sociable, well-adjusted dog. Seeing how much she has grown and improved has made us so happy, and the results have absolutely been worth it. Their continued support after we brought Dallas home has also been encouraging as we continue her training beyond her 3 week lesson. Mitchell is an amazing trainer. He trains based on how your dog reacts. Each week he sent me a video of how my 8 month old poodle was doing. We will be training more with Mitchell as my dog matures. We did the boarding with training and I felt that my dog was completely safe and cared for without a doubt. I highly recommend Xcaliber Dog Training.

We couldn’t be happier with the results of our dogs’ three-week obedience training! Our one-year-old English Springer Spaniels came home happier, more confident, and so much better behaved. Having them know “Place” and “stay” when guests come over is wonderful!! Their recall has improved tremendously, and their overall obedience has exceeded our expectations. Before training, walking them on a leash was nearly impossible as they pulled constantly and didn’t listen. Now they’re walking calmly by our side and responding to commands so much better. The best part is they’re still the same sweet, loving dogs we adore, just much more manageable. We know consistency and continued practice are key, and we’re excited to keep building on everything they’ve learned. We truly believe they’re well on their way to being amazing companions. We couldn’t be happier with the results from Finnley’s training! The transformation has been incredible. Before training, Finnley had trouble staying focused, excessive barking and would get easily distracted, and unpredictable but now he is so much more attentive, responsive, and eager to listen. Mitch was patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to teach both Finnley and us how to be successful. Mitch and Xcaliber Dog Training were absolutely phenomenal. We brought him a very reactive hound with some pretty unique behavioral quirks and Mitch was able to quickly assess it all and develop a custom training plan specifically for our needs.
