I would absolutely recommend Yazz to anyone who wants great music for their wedding, especially if they, like me, want a blend of live music and a DJ. We had one pianist and one violinist for our ceremony, and then the pianist stayed for cocktail hour. The music was beautiful and exactly what I had envisioned. The musicians were so talented and executed everything I had asked for perfectly. Amy and her team were very accommodating; I had initially given them the wrong time for the ceremony, and they were very understanding and flexible when we had to rearrange the schedule later. They really went above and beyond! DJ Dale made sure that the whole reception flowed flawlessly. I did not have to worry at all about the reception timeline because he directed guests from one event to the next and kept things moving exactly as we had discussed. I got SO many compliments on our reception dance music; DJ Dale kept the dance floor bumping all the way until midnight. We requested a blend of music tailored to mostly millennials and Gen X, and he delivered an awesome set list with the right amount of mixing. It was clear that he is a professional and that Djing is his passion. He read the room with precision and made sure there wasn't a single moment when the dance floor was dead. We truly did not have to worry about a thing the whole reception! Thank you so much to Amy and her team for making our wedding fun and memorable for us and our guests

Amy Yassinger is phenomenal and easily sets the bar for wedding entertainment in Chicago. Along with her incredible roster of professional musicians, vocalists, and DJs, she keeps the dance floor completely packed all night. What truly sets Amy apart is how far above and beyond she goes to weave in unique, personal moments—even backing brides for unforgettable guest vocal features! If you want an electric party with unmatched heart, you want Amy.

Yazz events came highly recommended by both our venue staff and family friends who hired them for their wedding. Now that our wedding is over, I truly couldn't agree more. The communication is 10/10- we got responses nearly immediately from Amy and Danielle, as well as monthly check ins containing planning check list reminders (even when it didn't have to do with the music!). Their portal is super user friendly and we had multiple zoom calls throughout the process so that we knew everyone was on the same page. They have SO many options for music, lights, DJs and variations of live musicians etc. The jazz trio elevated our dinner hour and DJ Dale is literally the BEST WEDDING DJ I've ever encountered (and I've been to a lot). He kept the dance floor packed, mixed songs perfectly, read the room & made us feel heard and special. Literally the easiest company to work with, and a few of my engaged friends are already planning to hire yazz for their weddings too. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this company and experience, it made our wedding absolutely incredible from start to finish.

Amy, Dale, and the entire Heatwave band turned our wedding into the party we dreamed of! From our very first call, we could tell Amy was a great talent but also a total pro. As we got closer to the wedding, she was so responsive and kind any time we had a question. Yazz's planning portal is a great tool and made requesting our song choices and bridal party intros easy. We met our emcee/DJ, Dale, on a video call the week of the wedding, and he has such wonderful positive energy that lasted through hours of wedding formalities. Our dance floor started fun and got even better throughout the night--absolutely no petering out, the energy just kept building. The audience interaction was also incredible. At one point, the singers came into the crowd and had our 6-year-old cousin perform "Pink Pony Club" into the mic...the family will never forget this moment! So happy we chose Yazz and highly, highly recommend them for your wedding. Thank you, Amy!

Amy and the entire Yazz team are absolute treasures, and I cannot recommend them enough. We first experienced their magic at our friend's wedding (the nonstop dance floor of legends) and knew we wanted this band for our wedding as well. They were the first vendor we booked once our venue and date were set. From the intro call with Amy's enthusiasm and professionalism to the seamless planning process with Danielle and the entire band and DJ team bringing their all to the stage, I was just blown away. The online portal made it easy for us to add and organize songs as we planned our day, and the final talk through with the whole team helped us explain our vision and get feedback from just amazing seasoned professionals. Not to mention the milestone wedding planning reminder emails Amy sent, just an extra sparkle from someone who has your back in the planning process. For an incredible wedding, I recommend booking Heat Wave plus saxophone - the versatility of the performers made every song across genres feel like it was theirs alone, and my guests have been talking about the band nonstop since the wedding. We saw their band perform at a friend's wedding and I instantly knew I wanted them for mine. ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! From the planning to the actual event itself, they made everything easy and simple to talk about, listened to what we were looking for, and put on one hell of a show! Amy is a seasoned events professional and brought so much polish to our planning process. She sent check in emails throughout! The portal was easy to use. They even learned specific songs for us! I cannot recommend them enough for any band or DJ you need for your wedding, your celebration, your event!

We booked Heatwave for our wedding band and our dance floor was packed the entire night! We added on a saxophone and also booked a live guitar and piano duo for our ceremony which was really nice. The fact that a DJ comes included with the band is great - some of the songs we requested to play were DJ’d while the band took a break and during cocktail hour and dinner the DJ mashed up a playlist we had created on Spotify. Our guests loved how interactive the band was - my favorite part was where I got to sign “We Are Family” with Amy….amazing night all around and the dancing didn’t stop! They created a fun setlist and accommodated some of our specific first/parent dance requests. Thank you Amy and team for a fantastic night!

Hiring Yazz Events, specifically Heatwave for our wedding was by far one of the best decisions we made for our whole day. They listened to all of our requests, put their own spin on some songs, and were just some of the coolest people. Our wedding was 2 months ago and we are still getting compliments on how much the band rocked. I really appreciated that we had a DJ along with the band too - it truly made all of our dreams come true. If you're on the fence, use this as your sign to hire Yazz Events/Heatwave!!!!

Yazz Events - specifically Heat Wave - performed at my wife’s and my wedding a month ago in Lake Geneva Wisconsin and I’ve got to say this was one of our best decisions for the entire weekend. The band was incredible — able to listen and take all of our requests and kept the dance floor completely popping the entire night. They learned “End of Beginning” for our final song of the night and it was probably our favorite moment of the entire weekend. Overall can’t recommend them enough if you want a band / Dj combo at your wedding!
