Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center

YBR has been a great choice for our two kids over the last 4 years. Staff know my kids by name, even if they aren’t their teacher. I know my kids are loved and cared for when I drop them off. Sara and her team do a great job. I’d list off staff by name but there are truly too many to recognize.

Our daughter just graduated from YBR Plymouth (Harbor Lane) after being there for 4.5 years. She has had so many wonderful teachers over the years, but we wanted to give a special shout out to Ms. Sara, Ms. Katie, Ms. Sharvari, and Mr. Ty. They are the best of the best. YBR plans so many fun activities for the students, especially in the summer months. On the very few occasions that we raised a concern about something to a teacher or to management, our concern was addressed promptly and professionally. We had a great experience at YBR and would highly recommend it.

There truly aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are to have found Yellow Brick Road on Harbor Lane in Plymouth. It has been, without a doubt, the absolute best school for both of our boys, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience.<br><br>From the moment you walk in, you can feel the magic. The facility is always sparkling clean and thoughtfully decorated to create a warm, imaginative environment where children can learn and grow. Every detail feels intentional, and it genuinely sets the tone for a place that prioritizes both joy and development.<br><br>One of the many standout features is the incredible meals that my boys won't stop talking about. The meals prepared by their chef are not only healthy but genuinely delicious— according to my kids. This is something that gives us so much peace of mind knowing our kids are being nourished so well each day so they can focus on learning and having fun.<br><br>What truly makes this school exceptional, though, is the teachers. They have such a deep understanding of children and meet each child exactly where they are at. Their approach builds confidence while thoughtfully preparing them for what comes next — kindergarten. We especially appreciate how closely the school aligns with the Wayzata kindergarten curriculum, ensuring our boys are growing socially, emotionally, and academically in all the right ways.<br><br>Miss Katie, Miss Sharvari, Miss Jen, and Mr. Ty have each been absolutely wonderful with our sons (Pre-K and Explorers). Their care, patience, and enthusiasm shine through every day. It’s clear they genuinely love what they do, and that love translates directly into the classroom experience.<br><br>The outdoor space is another highlight — such an amazing area where kids can explore nature, play freely, and stay active. The teachers go above and beyond to tap into each child’s unique interests, using those sparks to create excitement around learning in a way that feels natural and fun.<br><br>We’ve been especially amazed at how quickly our son has grown in Miss Katie’s class. In just four weeks, he’s already learned the months of the year, days of the week, colors, and numbers in Spanish, Hindi, and ASL. From lessons on opposites to learning about animal habitats, the lifecycle of a plant and beyond - we love hearing stories about what he learns each day, and seeing his genuine happiness has been incredible to witness.<br><br>After experiencing several not-so-great daycares in the past, this school has completely transformed what “daycare” means for our family. It’s not just care at Yellow Brick Road, it’s a nurturing, inspiring environment where our kids are truly thriving.<br><br>Miss Sarah, the director, is phenomenal. She is hands-on, deeply involved with both the children and families, and communicates so well. It makes such a difference knowing there is strong, compassionate leadership that you can count on and trust.<br><br>We also love how all of the teachers — including float teachers and staff from other classrooms — take the time to get to know our kids. Everyone has been so kind, welcoming, and genuinely invested in our family.<br><br>And as a bonus, their monthly “Parents Night Out” is such a treat — giving kids a fun evening of play, pizza, and organized activities, while parents get a little time to recharge.<br><br>It truly keeps getting better and better. Our family has had such a wonderful experience at Yellow Brick Road. The staff truly care about the kids, and it shows every day. A special thank you to Ms. Jen, who has been such a warm, patient, and genuinely caring teacher for our toddler. Our son is excited to go to school every day and he feels so special and loved, especially since all of the staff know him by name. All 3 of our kids have attended the school and it has meant so much to know they are in good hands, even with each of them having unique care needs. We are incredibly grateful for the positive, safe, and inclusive environment the director, Sara, has built. Highly recommend!

Yellow Brick Road (YBR) is the absolute BEST! Special shout out to the K-Prep teacher - Ms. Katie. Since she joined YBR ~3/4 years ago, she has absolutely transformed her classroom in a way I didn’t know was possible. She prepared my oldest to enter Kindergarten with such confidence, and make it a seamless transition. She pours her heart into everything she does. Every week, a new creative topic. Every lesson plan is so thoroughly prepared. Ms. Katie takes her class on an educational adventure, decorating her classroom and engaging the kids. My middle child now has her, and I’m so grateful for the education, love, and friendship she provides ❤️❤️❤️ If I could give her 10 gold stars, it still wouldn’t be enough! 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

The YBR Plymouth staff are amazing and always strive to create a safe and fun learning environment for all age groups! The director, Sara, has great communication with families, and has cultivated a wonderful community of support and love for the tiny humans! ❤️

Our 3 year old and 7 month old love coming to school! Every teacher in the building knows each child. Ms Maddie provides a great curriculum for our 3 year old (the water cycle?! So great). Our 7 month old just moved up classrooms, but we have never been worried about him. Ms Kristel and Ms Kayla are great communicators via the app. We feel relieved that both kids are safe, cared for, and having fun every day.

The director at Yellow Brick Road is one of a kind. Sara loves her staff and families as her own and fosters the best community that I’ve been lucky enough to witness. The community socials and outreach into the community is definitely a one of a kind experience. She teaches her staff to teach through play and grow the social and emotional aspects that are key to tiny human development! I couldn’t recommend this center more!

We love YBR. Great teachers, fair prices and fun events for families. We always felt our kids were safe and well cared for.
