I checked the reviews and I thought wow they’re good! But I didn’t have a good experience, Amie was my helper, and as soon as she got my money she became unavailable, she never responded to my email nor to my phone calls. I didn’t get any advice to cut my taxes, if we’re paying this high amounts for tax preparation we should get some in exchange, if I want someone to fill just blank spaces I can do that myself with Turbo Tax.

Mery, I'm disappointed in your behavior, 1 star? Amy came in especially to see you on a Saturday night to accommodate your time schedule. You say she "never responded to my email" when I have a copy of a number of emails going back and forth. Therefore, that is not a true statement. You say she "never responded...to my phone calls" and Amy can document a number of phone calls, so that is not a true statement. You say you "didn't get any advice" to cut your taxes, and that does not appear to be true. When one has a Sch C for self employed income and a Sch E, for rental properties, there are always discussions about what deductions are allowed such as mileage, home office, cell phone, supplies, advertising, MLS and Realtor dues, and so forth (as well as what is not allowed by the IRS). I see you have all of those in your return so there must have been some discussion on what you can deduct and what you cannot deduct. Most people have questions about what else can be done to reduce taxes and then we have the opportunity to go over IRAs, SEP IRAs, paying minor children to help you in your business, setting up an S corporation and so forth. It seems highly unlikely that a tax preparer would say they couldn't help you in these areas and they have no idea what you can do to cut your taxes. In looking at your rental property Schedule E, you have expenses listed for auto miles, cleaning, maintenance, insurance, legal fees, professional fees, management fees, mortgage interest, repairs, utilities, and depreciation. You are showing a loss on the rental. It would appear that you have about every expense possible unless you had some advertising that was not mentioned. It appears your taxes were completed correctly however you were just expecting more advice in what you can do to save on taxes for the future. That might justify a 4 star review rather than a 5 star as your expectations were not met, but a 1 star implies the person doing your taxes is entirely incompetent, made a number of errors, was unable to fix those errors, and really does not know how to do taxes and should not be in the business. The one thing you may consider is setting up an S corporation for your realtor business which would potentially allow you to save on your self employment taxes, but you would have increased fees for payroll and/or tax filing as an 1120S return costs more to file than a Sch C. Most self employed people save a lot more in taxes than they pay in additional costs. We hope your realtor business continues to grow and you become a million dollar producer! Have a great year. Brian
