We have adopted 2 cats and a dog from here and it is the best. They really care about the animals and the process has been extremely easy each time. The staff is absolutely awesome! The adoption process was quick and easy! I adopted my beautiful babygirl Clove in the early February! she has flourished and is full of cuddles, love, and parkour zoomies lol especially at bedtime but nonetheless I love her unconditionally and she has brought so much joy to my life!

All paws count unless their strays. We reached out via text over labor day weekend cause we figured they'd be closed due to labor day and decided we'd call them the day after cause we had a momma stray cat show up with 3 kittens we have been taking care of them for a little over a month and even had to take one of the kittens into the vet to get an abcess drained do to a cat bite infection and also paid to have him neutered. They're great cats. We just don't have the means to take care of them. we already have a dog and two indoor cats. I created a Facebook and put them on the lost pets page for our local area, and no one claimed them. We just want to help this poor family of cats we even listed them on ksl, but no one wants to make the drive to come get them. We are more than willing to bring them in but no one will take them cause their strays it doesn't make any sense how is a stray any different then if someone surrenders their pet their both still animals that need help. Very dispointing that this shelter claims all paws count, but their attitudes suggest otherwise.
It's not considered harboring or theft if there's no owner. We have attempted to see/find if the cats have an owner. We reached out to our local vet and our local animal control which is our local police station who advised we spay, neuter and release them where we found them. We found them in our backyard living under an old truck. We posted them on our local lost pests group on FB as well and no one recognized or claimed them. So instead of letting them go hungry or thirsty we provide them with food and water and made a cat house for them to take shelter in if they need to. Since we have made every attempt to see if they are someone's pets and have failed to find anyone we're just trying to help them hopefully find a better home than in our backyard but we'll just keep on loving them and providing however and wherever we can to hopefully keep them safe. We have indoor pets ourselves and would be lost if someone found them and just kept them. We're making every attempt to find out if they have a home of their own but it's been a bit over a month with no claims so now all we can do is try to help them and keep them safe.

LEGALLY, we can not take stray animals. We are a non-profit rescue, not the animal shelter. Strays are very different than owner surrenders. An owner can legally sign over their pet to a rescue. No one knows who owns the stray animal. Legally, all stray animals have to go to the shelter and do a stray hold. If the owner does not claim the animal, the animal is available for adoption or rescue. The stray hold gives the owner an opportunity to pick up their pet. If they don't, the shelter can take ownership, and then, and only then, can a rescue, like we are, go in and pull the animals from the shelter. It is illegal to harbor a stray and keeping them is considered theft. Giving us a one-star review for complying with legal requirements is unfair to the staff and volunteers who work incredibly hard every day to help animals in our community.

Shows the integrity this organization.(or lack thereof) You can't even explain it to us even once why you couldn't help until we leave a bad review. I understand not being able to help for any reason legal or otherwise but at least have the dignity to tell us why. You had my number
