For a deep clean they quoted $198 for an approximately 220 square foot efficiency apartment. That price seemed high to me but I wrote it off to Chicago pricing and the fact that we needed it done in a few days. For that price I assumed we would get a minimum of 4-6 hours. They sent out one person who did an excellent job and had a pleasant personality. After she arrived she called the office and they re-styled it a "heavy duty" cleaning service (this service is not listed on their website) and that it would cost an additional $111. The work was done in 5 hours so the $309 tab works out to almost $62 per hour. They also attempted to add another $50 due to change of service after their employee arrived. They did reverse this charge (which would have pushed the hourly rate to $72). Not unlike many other businesses in Chicago this is a classic bait and switch. The day they cleaned my disabled son's apartment he had no option but to accept the additional charge. I am merely pointing out that the charges were excessive. The area of wall and ceiling cleaning was less than 30 square feet. It was not worthy of an additional charge and I will simply revert back to an average rate of $61.80 per hour and let the readers decide if that's what they want to pay. I would also note that this cleaning did not include the refrigerator, stove, or dishes. At home we can get excellent deep cleaning service for $25 per hour. I would give no stars to this company except for the quality of the work done by their employee. I hope she got a bonus.

Hi Bill,
I want to acknowledge that you said we delivered a fantastic service, you, the father of our client was not happy with the price. When we called about upgrading the cleaning, the client understood because of how neglected the home was. It cost more when regular cleanings do not occur. One thing we take extremely serious is an accusation that we are not transparent.
When we arrived to your sons home, it was outside of the scope of work your son booked. We let the customer know what would be needed to upgrade, the ceiling, among other things we typically do not clean. We informed the customer of his options, keeping the cleaning as booked, or upgrade to clean everything needed, the customer was more than happy with our price for his upgrade. We even called after we performed our service to ensure satisfaction and just as you have stated, not only did she do a wonderful job but she went above and beyond to make sure we did the best job possible. As we tell all of our customers, if we come to your home and it is beyond the scope of work booked, we let the customer know if they want us to upgrade their cleaning, cancel or keep it the same. Either way we always check with our customers first and it is extremely unfortunate that you decided to unfairly state that our business practices are anything but transparent. We do not charge until a customer approves, we only upgrade based off our conversations with the customer.
We record all of our conversations to ensure consistency for each one of our customers and we followed our protocol each step of the way. I reviewed the process to ensure there was no stone unturned.
When you called us and threatened to leave a bad review if we didn’t charge less, that action, though your right, was unfair and we have policies to ensure that we are not taken advantage of. Your only complaint was about how much we charged, however we consulted with the client every step of the way.
I am not sure what else to say regarding your excellent cleaning experience with our transparent pricing. If you have anything that reflects we did not consult with the customer before we upgraded their cleaning, I would love to review it. However after you called Monday, two days after your sons cleaning and lodged a complaint about charging too much we immediately reviewed our process to make sure the customer knew about the process every step of the way. After my thorough review it appears we did everything correct and followed protocol. We always check with our customers before we proceed. We have never engaged in any bait and switch practice and work extremely hard to satisfy our customers.
