Their business name speaks for itself - Awesome Auto Repair really is awesome!!!
‐----------------
400 miles after driving my pre-certified used car off the lot, the red check engine lit up.
After googling certified & registered repair shops within 2 miles, Awesome Auto was at the top for having the most 5 star ratings and they were just a couple blocks away.
I showed up an hour before they closed asking if they could diagnosis the red check engine light that had just come on.
Without hesitation, Jessica (one of the owners) immediately assigned one of their mechanics to check the codes and do an on the spot diagnosis.
15 min later, they delivered the bad news that the vvt solenoids & cat converter were red flagged. With my consent but at no upfront cost, they dug a little deeper to find that the vvt solenoids were installed incorrectly, timing chain was bad, radiator was leaking, and sludge in the catalytic converter.
I gave em my service plan info and left my car there so they could submit a comprehensive mechanical claim totaling just north of $4k.
2 days later, given the high dollar amount, the service plan assigned a 3rd party inspector to come inspect the mechanical issues and essentially check the validity of the repairs & parts needed - the inspector's report confirmed that Awesome Auto's diagnosis & prognosis were 100% accurate.
6 days after the claim was filed, it was denied bc repairs for pre-existing conditions are excluded and there was evidence on the carfax to show that the owner (which was the dealership i purchased the pre-certified car from) replaced the vvt solenoids 10 days before i purchased the car.
I sent a certified letter to the dealership, demanding that they cover the entire cost of all essential parts and labor to fully repair the vehicle and gave them the Awesome Auto's # and Jessica's name.
11 days after the claim filed, the GM of the dealership reluctantly followed through and worked with Jessica who fended for me like it was her own car & situation!!!
With no signifcant other or immediate family here to help me navigate the crappy hand I was dealt, it was an "awesome" surprise to see & hear both the owners and all of the mechanics pour so much time & effort into working with the service plan company and the dealership to get my car FULLY repaired.
They're a local, family owned & operated business, with owners that have decades of experience working with Service Plans & Warranty companies. They proved that very quickly by just how accurate they were with what to expect in terms of the turnaround times and level of quality, customer service, and what labor / parts would covered or excluded. And their entire service & repair team truly are experts with a full range of specialities and given how complicated and severe my situation was, it was all-hands on deck.
They truly advocated for me as if i was one of their own family members, and I can definitely say for certain that they played a instrumental role in getting the dealership to right their wrong and cover the full cost of the repair ($5800).
16 days after the claim was filed, the dealership pre-authorized everything and the Awesome Auto Repair team immediately jumped into action, had all the parts delivered and completed all of the repairs in less than 48 hours.
Now, almost 600 miles after the repair, I'm stoked and beyond grateful to report that my new car, "Steve" is operating safe, smooth, and great overall... BUT the best part is that my gas mileage has nearly doubled which is "AWESOME"!!! 🤑
Their business name speaks for itself - Awesome Auto Repair really is awesome!!!

Angie, we read every word of this, and honestly it got to us a little. That was a long road: a check engine light 400 miles in, a denied claim, and a dealership that had to be pushed to do the right thing. Jessica and the whole crew are really glad we could stand in your corner through all of it. We're so grateful you trusted Awesome Auto Repair in Tooele with the engine repair, and doubled gas mileage is the best ending we could ask for. Give "Steve" a pat on the dash for us, and come back anytime he needs anything. You're family here now.

GO HERE, trustworthy and SO HELPFUL, also, affordable. I took a car on a test drive—and I went for a pre purchase inspection. They told me more than the dealership disclosed about the vehicle (it had been in an accident, which I did not know. The car was incredibly over priced—I did not get it). It was a lifesaver. They genuinely care. I’m from out of town, and I was so grateful that I could look up a mechanic shop with good reviews, and be completely taken care of. 🙏🙏

I will be going to this place more often. Jessica helped me out so much. My car broke down. And I was able to tow it here. They did a diagnostic and told me that I’m better off scrapping it, it was gonna cost more to fix it than what it would cost. They helped me find some places to scrap my car. I had it there for a few weeks. They were super understanding about my situation. This place looks out for their customers and not for their paychecks. 10/10 recommend.

Shelby, thank you for this. Nobody wants to hear a repair would cost more than the car is worth, and we're grateful you trusted us to give you the honest answer after the diagnostic. Jessica was glad she could help you through it. Whenever you've got your next vehicle, come see us at Awesome Auto Repair on Main Street in Tooele. We'd love to take care of it.
