My Macbook pro display got damaged and needs replacement. It is pretty old not worthy to spend $450+ in Apple store or any branded technicians. Got a decent quote from Computer doctor and they are able to replace it in 2 hours.

I believe more consideration should have been given regarding availability of parts. 2: They refused to refund my deposit (if this is genuinely the first time parts could not be source then giving a refund should be considered). 3: They also left a fat sticker on the device that will surely leave residue and grime if removal is attempted. Very upset with my experience, but they were nice I guess.

Hi Ben, Alex here, owner and technician at CRD. I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I know how disappointing it is to bring in a newer device hoping for a quick turnaround, only to find out there isn't an immediate repair route available. When we took your laptop in, we disassembled it to inspect the damage, identify the exact part numbers, and source compatible replacement parts. Unfortunately, every single vendor we contacted is currently out of stock with no restock date available or had incompatible variants. Our $40 evaluation fee covers that hands-on teardown and sourcing time—and while we always credit it toward any completed repair, replacement or recovery, the bench work had already been done. Also, just as a quick note of reassurance: the label on your laptop is simply an intake barcode that peels off cleanly with zero adhesive residue. I always want our customers to leave with a solution, which is why I suggest reaching out to Lenovo directly to see if factory replacement or warranty service is an option. I truly regret that supply chains kept us from fixing this in-house for you, but I wish you the best with the machine and hope we can be of better help on any tech needs down the road. Review from Google · view on GoogleA friend of ours had recommended Computer Repair Doctor to us. They had replaced his cracked iPhone screen. I thought my screen had cracked—was getting glass splinters from one of the edges I took it in and was immediately greeted by Delonte. He checked my phone and said the screen was not cracked but the glass screen saver on it was. I could do it myself for no charge. I asked if they could do it and what the cost would be—the glass screen saver was going to be a pain to get off and clean. He said they could do it for $27 which includes tax. The new screen saver would not be glass but a special protectant screen that if scratches or “cracked” could be quickly fixed by using a blow dryer. Mine phone was ready in 15 minutes! Highly recommended.
