Outstanding work, we had 5 palms trimmed (tall trees that needed quite a bit trimmed) and diamond cut from top to bottom. First, a great Happy Team showed up to do the work. They trimmed, and cleaned up like nothing ever happened. The trees look fabulous and we could not be more happy with the entire process to include a fair price!!

I was very pleased with tree and stump removal service provided by Danny of Custom Tree Surgeons. He was responsive, arrived on time, and completed the job efficiently. His bid was the lowest I received, and he removed all the tree debris, leaving the area clean. I would gladly hire Danny again and recommend his services.

Had a downed branch that was straddling the fence. Danny took care of business taking care not to damage the fence. All debris was cleaned up and stacked for take away.

Custom Tree Surgeons delivered an exceptional combination of skill, care, service, and value. Our family has hired tree services for our heavily wooded lakefront property in Jacksonville for more than 60 years, going back to Hurricane Dora in 1964. We have worked with many excellent professionals, but none have surpassed our experience with this team.
Danny, their estimator, was knowledgeable, attentive, and an excellent communicator. He listened carefully, discussed the trees’ condition and our priorities, and provided an itemized estimate before leaving.
The most delicate job involved removing two heavy sections of an enormous live oak extending over the roof of our 1947 home. Several years earlier, another major section of this tree had fallen and demolished two parked vehicles, so we understood the stakes. Other priorities included cutting up and removing a large fallen water oak and trimming hickory and cypress trees that obscured our lake views.
Given Danny’s professionalism, I expected a quote toward the higher end. Instead, it was several hundred dollars below any of the other estimates—and less than half of one quote received that same day for the same specified work. Danny also offered a $3,500 day rate, which included an expanded crew and a full day of attention throughout the property. We chose that option, and it proved an excellent decision.
Before work began, the company readily supplied written confirmation of general liability and workers’ compensation coverage. Vicki and Rick from the office staff were responsive and helpful with scheduling and our questions.
On the job, Jeremy, the foreman, worked from a bucket lift above the roof, carefully rigging and lowering the heavy oak sections. His coordination with the crew below had the precision and grace of a choreographed ballet—remarkable to watch, especially with so much at stake.
What impressed me just as much was the attention to things I had neither requested nor expected. After the oak work, Jeremy and a crew member removed accumulated ferns and debris from the roof, saving me a task I had planned to tackle myself. Jeremy also removed a large magnolia limb near the roofline that I had considered mentioning but hadn’t.
Meanwhile, the crew made quick work of the fallen water oak. Later, Jeremy trimmed the lakeside hickory and cypress trees and removed enormous clumps of vines, restoring our lake views and dramatically improving the trees’ appearance. The crew also cleared additional debris along the lakeside embankment beside the house.
Throughout the day, everyone was hardworking, thorough, friendly, and respectful. Their care extended well beyond the primary jobs we had discussed; all debris was hauled away, and the improvement to the property was extraordinary.
My thanks to Danny, Vicki, Rick, Jeremy, and every member of the crew. Custom Tree Surgeons treated my property as though it were their own, exceeded my expectations, and did it at a price I could manage.
What more could anyone ask for?

Pictures are two after pictures and the before picture. Large trees, power lines and close to the home. The work was done seamlessly and professionally.

I’m impressed! From my initial inquiry to price quote (Danny Hysmith sales arborist) to scheduling to finishing the agreed upon work, this was a great experience! The crew with foreman Stevie Willis, was friendly, polite and had a helpful, “can do” attitude! Good value for the work done. Great job! Keep up the good work!
