Our wedding could not have been planned or executed more perfectly. Kate is incredibly organized, creative, professional, and attentive to every detail, and it is clear that she has a wealth of experience in wedding planning. She also has wonderful relationships with her vendors, which made the entire planning process feel seamless. I could not be more grateful for Kate’s guidance and leadership throughout our planning process. Early on, I felt that Kate was able to let my creative vision shine while also stepping in with thoughtful guidance whenever needed. As the daughter of Chinese immigrants with a fiancé who has deep Midwestern roots, I wanted to weave in subtle elements of Chinese culture without having a full-blown Chinese wedding. On top of that, my parents and I didn’t have the first idea of what an American wedding was supposed to look like! Kate listened with an open ear and worked with our florist and caterers to masterfully bring together my family’s traditions with my fiancé’s family’s traditions. I could not have been happier with the result. As we got closer to the wedding, especially in the final 10 weeks, Kate expertly managed all of our vendors and the day-of timeline behind the scenes. As a perfectionist myself, I could not have felt more worry-free with Kate as my planner. My fiancé and I regularly found ourselves asking each other, “What would we do without Kate?!” At times, it honestly felt like Kate was magical. My family and I had misplaced my reception shoes at the hotel, and after my dad spent hours searching for them without any luck, Kate somehow found them within minutes. I was so stressed, and Kate completely saved the day. Kate went above and beyond in every possible way, and I truly cannot imagine our wedding without her. She made the entire experience feel organized, thoughtful, and, most importantly, enjoyable. We are so grateful to have had her by our side throughout the process and would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone planning their wedding.

I would trust Kate and her team with my life- truly call Kate before 911. There is NOTHING Kate can not handled, nor is she phased by any disruption, change or idea. She made it feel like I was going to a wedding and it happened to be mine. I recieved numerous comments about how relaxed I was leading up to the day, which was true because I had NOTHING to be worried about- she thought of questions, logistics and details I wouldn’t have dreamed to address with our family, vendor team and each other. I learned through this process that what makes a wedding planner excellent, isn’t their ideas or vision, but their ability to plan well, manage chaos, handle details seamlessly. Luckily for me (& you because you are going to hire her), Kate is all of that AND has the most creative ideas, beautiful designs and is truly the kindest human. Our friends and family are obsessed with her and every person left our wedding impressed by her, felt cared by her. One of the reasons I hired her was because I could see the couple’s personality and vision in each wedding, she takes each couples vision and elevates it. She exceeded every expectation I could have and made our wedding day epic, perfect, magical.
Working with Stephanie and the Cygnet team was the best decision we made throughout wedding planning! We worked with Cygnet for coordination services, which began a couple months before our wedding date. We got married in March in Chicago, which meant there was no guessing what the weather would do. Stephanie had plans A, B, C, and D to account for every possible weather situation! We knew from our first meeting with Stephanie that we were in great hands and we felt so confident throughout the entire process that no matter what, Stephanie could handle things. We threw some wild logistics requests at her and she did not hesitate. We had a day-of DJ emergency and Stephanie handled this huge change so seamlessly. She communicated with us and made sure we were aware, but honestly, had she not told us what was going on I wouldn't even have noticed because she just handled it. Stephanie even expertly handled some tricky dynamics with a difficult wedding party member and kept me from having to deal with conflict on my wedding day. Every single moment from our very first call to her literally having to take scissors to my wedding dress minutes before the reception - Stephanie was our hero! Our friends and family were obsessed with her and we got so many comments about how professional and competent she was while also being kind and lovely to be around. I certainly don't ever want to plan a wedding again, but if I did, I would start by booking Stephanie and Cygnet!

This is a bit overdue from our September 2025 wedding, but it’s honestly been hard to put into words just how incredible the Cygnet team was on our big day! From our very first call with Kate, we knew we were in great hands. One of the biggest reasons we chose Cygnet was because she had answers to every question we threw her way and she made it clear that her team would take the lead on the day itself so we could truly enjoy our wedding. It was truly a huge weight off our shoulders! Since we don’t live in Chicago, we also really appreciated how flexible and accommodating they were in helping us coordinate and schedule our final walkthrough. Our coordinator, Stephanie, was absolutely phenomenal! When we look back on our wedding day, we constantly find ourselves asking, “what would we have done without her?” She’s incredibly detail-oriented, always thinking ten steps ahead, and has a calming presence that kept us grounded throughout the day. Our wedding wasn’t a simple setup either: it was a tented backyard wedding for ~180 people in a fairly remote area, which meant a lot more vendor coordination than a typical pre-packaged venue. Kate handled all of that seamlessly and made everything feel easy. She connected us with amazing vendors who were not only talented but genuinely good people, and she handled all the moving parts behind the scenes so we never felt stressed or overwhelmed. She was thoughtful, flexible, and patient with all of our ideas (and a few quirky requests such as our dog pulling a wagon down the aisle). She consistently went above and beyond by traveling repeatedly, hopping on calls whenever needed, and keeping everything on track while also always being conscious of our budget and advocating + negotiating on our behalf. On the actual wedding day, she solved problems quietly, anticipated things before we even thought of them, and made our families feel at ease. The venue looked even better than we could have imagined, while still honoring the land and space that is so meaningful to both of us. The timeline also flowed seamlessly despite 1 or 2 surprises, and we were free to just be present for the whole day, which is ultimately the greatest gift a planner can give. We’re so grateful for the care, thought, and heart she put into the entire process. Working with Kate was hands-down the best decision we made in the planning process. If you’re looking for someone who’s equal parts professional, calm, creative, and genuinely fun to work with, we can’t recommend her enough.
I recently used Cygnet for my wedding in Chicago (at Morgan's on Fulton) and can't recommend them enough as a business.
