First time at DMZ salon and Liyu did a great job with my hair!!! I got a sew in and she blended my leave out with the bundles perfectly. 10/10 would recommend Liyu!

i’ve never had this difficult of a hair salon experience. i texted this place days prior to see what time i can come in for a silk press and trim, they told me 10am on saturday. i show up at that time and the place was packed, all stylists occupied and people sitting on the side. i had to wait for almost 40 minutes before someone came to do my hair. i can’t believe the man who did my hair is even a stylist. he didn’t shampoo well, didn’t use any conditioner or hair mask on my hair. he takes me straight from the washing bowl to his chair and doesn’t part my hair, doesn’t detangle, doesn’t put ANY product in it and starts going at it with a blow dryer then he goes in after that with a second blow dryer, again with ZERO product in my hair. i ask him does he use protectant and he tells me that he thinks heat protectant is a scam and that the only who can protect my hair is him….after i tell him that i prefer to use he protectant, he does maybe 3 sprays of a random heat protectant and proceeds. he then goes in to flat iron, with TWO flat irons, with one of them being on 455. i told him if he’s going to use the flat iron that high, i’d prefer a leave in or another heat protectant, he doesn’t add any. he went over my hair multiple times with these flat irons on the highest settings. i am almost positive my curly hair is fried after this. idk about their other work but if you’re looking for a silk press, this is not the place to go especially if you care about the health of your hair. it’s also just incredibly unprofessional, barely any place for customers to sit, employees cursing and complaining out loud, talking about each other. it just was not a pleasant experience.
