Nice clean modern restaurant. Hence the one star. Guacamole was good. Rest was no bueno. Beans from a can. Chile relleno was inedible. Pretty sure the chile was rotten before they cooked it. “Pork” tamale with ground beef chili on top! 🤦🏼♀️ Disgusting. Do better. Guess it’s called “El Guero” for a reason.
Goggle maps said they were open on Sunday, had friends down from Ames and we drove an extra 20 miles to eat lunch but they were closed. We went across the street to Tiger Pizza and had some great pizza!

I have been here twice and had a great experience both times. The food was excellent and service was perfect. I will be visiting again when in the area and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Fajita combo salad was very delicious and filling.

El Guero popped up as a suggestion so we got in our car and scurried on in. Walking in, El Guero had an astonishing photo wall with a yellow LED light that shines bright that caught my eye. Sitting down, we were presented with FREE chips and salsa (have not seen this accommodation in YEARS). Beers were cold. Guac was fresh. Enchiladas were spicy. Left full, refreshed, and ready to continue my weekend in Iowa.
