Classes and community are great. The CrossFit classes constantly see new faces and those folks get hooked immediately. I highly recommend if you're looking for a great workout/challenge each time you show up.
Open gym section has everything you need and they constantly get new equipment. Can't ask for anything more.

I contacted Factory Athletics to ask if my wife and I could try some of their equipment while we considered a membership. They were courteous and accommodating. When we arrived Mike showed us around and answered all our questions. They seem like a top-notch facility!

If I could give it a zero I would. Came here once to a free class, just to check it out. It was a 5am class. I immediately felt uncomfortable being there because as a black person, you can just tell when something is off. One of the ladies questioned what I was doing here since I'm from waterbury. I told her there was nothing near by and this being the closest, was only 11 minutes from my house which is pretty darn close even though its 2 towns away. She kept pressing the issue saying, well, to be honest its really expensive here. I should have told her I was a millionaire so she should stay out of my pockets and not worry about what I could afford. I was uncomfortable with her by this point so I stopped engaging with her. Then when the class was over, I was expecting to recieve further information about the program and how much it would be to attend, and the man who was supposed to contact me again never did. They just ghosted me and I never went back.
My point is, this establishment is not friendly to people of color, so if thats a point of contention for you, STAY AWAY! And do not engage with those middle-aged, sex and city meets Stanford wife women in there.

Hello LaTanya, my name is Mike DeAngelo, and I’m one of the owners of Factory Athletics and Wellness. I wanted to personally reach out and apologize for your experience. Certainly not something I like to hear and I’m very sorry. I do appreciate your willingness to share and I can promise actions on our side will be taken to make sure no one else ever feels this way about our gym. We do work very hard to provide an inclusive environment for and hope we can always be a bright spot in someone’s day. In your case, we failed at that. I’d certainly love to try and make it right with you if you gave us a second chance but I understand if we lost that opportunity already.

I've been at Factory Athletics for about a month. While working out is not new to me, CrossFit is. Any concerns that I had about joining a CrossFit gym were eased the moment I asked for a tour. During the tour, Lindsey and Mike spent over an hour with me, responding to all of my questions and concerns. I enjoy the workouts and in the month that I have been participating, I have noticed that my strength and endurance have improved. I'm able to access, on average, about 65-70% of the prescribed workout but I also believe I am benefiting form each workout. I've worked with a variety of the coaches (Mike, Ellie, Brandon) and they all provide me alternatives to the either the volume of work or types of movement when I request it, in order to accommodate my current body mechanics and limitations. Coaches also provide specific feedback on the Olympic weightlifting and gymnastics, both of which are new to me. While most, if not all, of the athletes participating in the workouts are stronger than I am, I find the clientele to be welcoming, inviting, and encouraging. Each of the coaches works with me to ensure that I get the most from each workout.
