Have gotten multiple tattoos from Bird and they always knock it out of the park. Most recent pieces were done at Frequency and the shop is very well maintained and in a very cute part of the city. Highly recommend checking it out.
bird was extremely professional and clean and made me feel safe and comfortable for my first tattoo. i look at it every day and am full of joy because of it. i plan to visit philly more just to get more tattoos from them. they worked very patiently with me on placement and size and i can't recommend bird enough!
Best shop in Philly! My husband and I have been going to this shop for all our tattoos for years now. Line work is immaculate , shop vibes are unmatched. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!! John Howie does our work but everyone here is absolutely capable, hard working and stands behind their work. They accept walk ins and…
For years I had wanted to do something to make my old bat tattoos (1st pic) look like they belonged together/were part of the same world and I knew Bird was the artist I wanted to collaborate with. I’m a huge fan of their color and gradients work and have the utmost confidence in their skills. I trust their eye and…
I love this place. My artist was Bird and they absolutely killed it on my tattoo. I’m a huge fan of their style it feels so fresh, esp the way they use color. The shop itself and everyone there is super warm and inviting. Highly reccomend!
My friend Jess turned me on to frequency. I’ve appreciated John’s commitment to creating something I will like- he is deliberate throughout the process.
I got inked by BG, a wonderful and talented artist. They have excellent artwork and I am more than satisfied with my new piece. I was looking for a queer-friendly place and the owner assured me that they welcome everyone and as soon as I walk in the shop, “I’d see it for myself.” And he was right! What a cool, chill…
I had a great experience getting tattooed by Cece recently! She’s so gentle and speedy and her work is really amazing! Super happy with my new tattoo and will certainly be back. Frequency was very comfortable, super clean and easy street parking too!
Liz did two tattoos for me a few months ago and she was fantastic! She was so welcoming and patient with my adjustments and made me feel totally comfortable the whole time. She's so talented and can't wait to go back for my next one.
Best tattoo shop out there! Great atmosphere, great people, and great work!
I’ve been coming to this shop for years to get tattooed by Liz and I love it so much! Everyone there is so welcoming and it’s very clean and organized. I love the tiny homey feel, and I always look forward to going there. Plus there’s always free street parking available.(Also Liz is truly amazing at her craft, so kind, and does beautiful line work) ❤️❤️❤️
Place is absolutely incredible. Amazing artists. Extremely clean. Fantastic vibes. Shoutout to John for all of his dope work. Can’t wait for my next appointment!
I have gotten 2 tattoos by Ale at frequency and I cannot recommend her enough!! my first one by her was done in 2021 and is def my most complimented tattoo. They heal perfectly, shop vibes are 10/10, and Ale is so accommodating and such a joy to chat with!
Went to BG for my mom’s first tattoo, at 60 yrs old. BG was incredibly patient and supportive during the whole session and provided a great tattoo! Would highly recommend for anyone needing some extra care during a tattoo, 10 stars!
Such a good experience!!!! The person working at the front desk was extremely friendly and welcoming and all the artists at the shop were great! I got tattooed by Liz and she did an amazing job, highly recommend this shop!
Awesome small business tattoo shop! John was my artist and this was one of my first tattoos! I got a few small stars on my side, even though this was a small job he took the time to make sure it was the right positioning and size that I wanted. He made sure I was comfortable during the session and gave me helpful…
I seriously cannot thank Liz enough. She was completely professional and friendly from start to finish. She also made sure I was comfortable during the entire session. Most importantly, she completely understood what I wanted, and gave me such a stunning tattoo. The entire staff at the shop is very friendly and…
This was my first time being tattoed and I was nervous... I had looked through many portfolios and I thought Liz Glitz would be a good match and my insticts were correct. She was thorough and prompt in her communication and transparent about pricing. I cannot say enough about how happy I am with the tattoo.…
This was the best tattoo experience I've ever had!!! My artist was Liz. The building is clean, the decor is awesome, and everyone was SO NICE. Liz was kind, patient, thorough and quick. My entire tattoo process only took an hour, I was shocked! Also incredibly affordable considering Liz's talent. This is my new shop of choice!!
Anna brought my ideas to life in the most beautiful ways. She's kind, professional, and friendly. Frequency has a great atmosphere that makes getting tattooed fun. I've gotten 4 tattoos from her and ready to book my 5th! I've referred friends and family to her too.
My first tattoo in nearly fifteen years - Anna took such good care of me. She’s a fantastic artist and was able to help me pay tribute to a dear friend I lost to cancer. I booked my next session as soon as we finished. I can’t recommend this shop enough!
Ahhhh! I got tattooed by Anna and WOW. i’ve been in lots of shops, and I can’t say enough about how safe and welcome I felt at Frequency. Anna, especially, but the whole staff was super cool, down-to-earth, and friendly. Everyone clearly knew their stuff. As for the actual tattoo I got — I’m in love with it still, 6…
I have been tattooed by Anna twice so far, and both experiences were amazing. She is an incredible artist, and above that, she is super accommodating! She asked if I needed breaks multiple times, and made sure I was as comfortable as possible throughout the experience. She was very kind even when I took forever to…
Anna Sylvan did 2 beautiful tattoos for me. One was a scar cover up with a floral theme and she worked with me to figure out exactly how I wanted it to look, even down to the exact flowers I wanted. It still looks beautiful today! The whole experience was enjoyable, she really let me vibe with the whole process. Thank you so much!
I’ve worked with Frequency, specifically Anna Sylvan @annasylvantattoos for two years now. We’re about an hour and a half from finishing a sleeve I designed on paper and in theory, but that she brought to life in a way I never thought possible. She has vision, talent and one of the most creative minds I’ve known.…
I got tattooed by Anna Sylvan in Nov. 2021, and I had a great experience. The shop was very clean and everyone was friendly, I felt very safe with the Covid precautions in place. She really did an amazing job and she was so patient and nice. Can’t recommend enough going to Frequency and getting a tattoo from Anna Sylvan!
I was tattooed by Anna and she was professional and friendly. I learned about her through Instagram and when she opened her books I was so excited that she chose my project idea. She tattooed a beautiful pomegranate on my arm and was gracious about changes, even agreeing to make it darker after it heals. I plan on…
Being as it was my first tattoo, I was more than apprehensive about my appointment, pain tolerance and if I was even cool enough to pull tattoos off. All those silly points aside, ANNA made me feel totally at home. Like I was the seasoned tattoo-getter in the chair and we had worked together for years. She made me…
Anna is absolutely amazing!!! I have 3 tattoos from her and will going for my next one in March! She's so talented and makes the process so easy!!! 100% would recommend her!! 💖
I’ve been going to Anna for years. She’s an absolute angel and has always exceeded my expectations with her talent and skill. I highly recommend her and her gorgeous work!
I was tattooed by Anna Sylvan and it might actually be my best experience being tattooed. She took my idea and ran with it, creating one of the coolest designs ever. She was incredibly patient and quick with the tattoo (a half sleeve), didn't mind me being a baby about the pain, and encouraged as many breaks as I…
Anna is one of the best. I have three tattoos by her (going in for more work). Her literal table-side manner is great, she draws beautiful art work, and her hand is smooth/she is quick and efficient. I recommend her to all of my friends.
Anna Sylvan is one of the most talented tattoo artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. If you’re looking for a beautiful, whimsical, jaw-dropping tattoo from a welcoming community of artists...ask for Anna at Frequency Tattoo and you won’t be disappointed. It is my one and only stop ❤️
I got tattooed by Anna and she is so kind and communicative through the whole process. I loved that she made me feel comfortable and her work is absolutely amazing! She even took time to talk about a cover up I asked about in the future. She worked with me to pick the best shape and size of my tattoo when I was…
Frequency is staffed by some of the most kind, understanding, and accepting people in the area. Their appointment process is seamless, the interior is clean and organized, and staff is extremely knowledgeable. Anna is just a gentle soul that pours her heart into every art piece that she creates. All artists are very talented people!
Such a lovely place with lovely people. Liz is amazing and so sweet! I can't wait to go back again to get some more ink from her :)
