Lady acted like I was an idiot, said the website didn’t do that. I implore you to upload a 6000x4000 photo and tell me what it looks like on the site. Update: I appreciated John calling me back, but the crux of the issue was that the woman on the phone told me that the blurriness I was describing "didn't happen." The images evidently are compressed on screen as detailed in John's response. I appreciate John's explanation but I received no apology for his staffer's lack of knowledge or rude tone. It appears that Fromex might be a good place to print pictures, but after my experience I don't care to find out.
e_journo, Thanks for visiting our website and placing an order. Your original image file that you uploaded is downloaded to our lab without any changes. We print from your original file. All images displayed on your screen when ordering are small screen resolution images that display at 72dpi at the size they appear on your screen. This greatly speeds up your ordering experience. Remember that you are using e-commerce ordering software, not Photoshop. Everything you see on the screen are screen resolution files. Thank you for your interest in Fromex. John

If you want one of the most professional photo labs and printing locations in Southern California you found it with Fromex. When I was working exclusively with film they were amazing. I could even bring bear film to them and they were able to process it. No problem, you just have to let them know. Their prints are top notch and all my clients always love them. I can't recommend them highly enough. They're so good. They do get busy so make sure that you check in with them about lead times for jobs. But other than that they are a surefire winner when it comes to getting jobs done well and professionally.
